Sadly, I think you're right. I think the bang on the head shook Rob's confidence and he hasn't really performed as well as his early promise led us to believe. Really looking forward to the flamenco routine though.

Thats not a very convincing reason.
thats like saying if Ray was from LA instead of Liverpool he wouldn't have deserved to win.

Totally agree. I would lilke the best overall skater/performer/entertainer to win regardless of where they are from. Presumably for the same reason some posters did not support Donal as he is Irish? Not surprised Ray supports Vanilla Ice as he too is an entertainer.

I don't remember suggesting I was trying to convince anyone, certainly not you that it was a good reason. However, I believe that it is a good reason (as much as any other) provided that contestant is also a good skater and I make no apologies for the fact that I'd rather see a British based contestant win. Using Ray as an example isn't relevant, as he was the easily best skater that series both in terms of performance and skill, Rob on the other hand is not, infact I would suggest that he is far from being the best skater and therefore in my view he would not be a deserving winner.

I don't remember saying you were trying to convince anyone, but I most certainly don't htink it is as valid a reason as others - e.g. talent, entertainment, skating ability etc. It's an entertainment show regardless of who participates. Still, you are entitled to think only a Brit should win or course! Fortunately I don't think many subscribe to that view. But are you really saying you would prefer, say, Denise Welsh, to win over Vanilla Ice??

Amy, sorry the convincing part of that response was intended for Minxy and yes I would. This is all very subjective and I think that taking this discussion any further would be futile.

I like the way he sings along to the songs and it would have been good to see Jedward accompany him (on skates) skating to his/their song!!!

I would love Vanilla to win. I didn't think I was going to like him at all but I have loved his performances and think he has a great attitude. He could have made a real meal of his head injury, but he just played it down and just got on with it. He was lucky to get the chance to get his confidence back as I was sure the judges were going to pick Jennifer in the skateoff. (We know neither should have been in the skateoff in the first place but thats another story). A similar thing happened to John Barrowman and he went straight out in the skateoff that week. I think he could have been quite entertaining had he stayed in and got the chance to get over his fall.

I think it is sad that people can be so xenophobic. Martina Hingis didn't last in Strictly and Elen and Craig didn't even get into the competition proper, although I didn't warm to Elen at all and she made a big mistake criticising T&Ds choreography. Craig didn't get as much skating in as the rest before the competition due to work committments which didn't help, but he is quite a character and would have been an asset to the programme and livened things up a bit had he stayed in for a few weeks. I loved Donal because he was just as bad as Todd Carty when he started yet he made the biggest improvement I have ever seen by anyone in any series both technically and performancewise. He was also a really nice guy and Vanilla reminds me of him as far as looking after his skating partner goes.

So, it's a combination of skating, performance and personality that wins my vote and that is why Vanilla gets mine. I like Chloe, much prefer Laura over Sam and I think she will probably win, but if Vanilla is not in the final, it will be a real shame. I don't want to see Jeff or Denise there.

Yep, Vanilla's my favourite too, along with Laura.

However this series has been an uber disappointment and I've kind of lost interest. The horrible new juding panel. The horrible new marking system. The horrible new rink and lay out. It's lost its heart and is just going for the headlines more than ever (Katona, Jason & Karen's argument), Sam and Brianne's fauxmance etc.

I watched Got To Dance last week instead and thoroughly enjoyed it
