Is the Htc Desire still a decent phone or is it worth waiting for the next generation?

Thanks in advance.

defo worth getting... the next generation isn't that much of an upgrade plus we know the.desire is worth getting, the.next generation could be a.let down like with a lot of phones..

The Desire is still a good phone, with decent specs and enough power for a couple of OS upgrades yet, but I'd wait a few weeks before buying/signing anything as when the next wave of phones is released (Desire S, Wildfire S, Incredible S, Atrix, Galaxy S2, etc.) then the prices for the Desire will fall.

Its a fantastic phone and a brilliannt feature set when you compare it against the likes of its successors such as the Desire HD. That being said it's biggest let down is the measly amount of application memory that comes with it only 150mb or so.....yes theres the move to SD card function for apps but only if they support that and also it still saves data on the main app memory.

I think the biggest plus point is the OLED screen and better battery life when compared to its new sibilings.

As mentioned I would wait a bit, you have the Incredible S coming out early March along with the Galaxy S II released by Samsung. When these get released I dare say the cost of the older Desire models will come down in price substantially.
