HI all

I've recently got the Blackberry Bold 9780.

I am with 02 on PAYG, simplicity tarrif, unlimited texts £5 per month.

I am trying to send my first picture message, using a test photo taken with the onboard camera.

Whilst I can send and receive SMS text messages absolutely fine, when I click on the picture I want to use, then click on send via text message, the phone brings me to the sending screen (once I've obviously entered the contact details of who the picture is going to)... It then says "switching to MMS mode" - then all I get is a red "X" next to the thumbnail of the picture and nothing seems to happen - I presume it's obviously not sending...

Anyone know why? I was able to send/receive picture messages on the same PAYG tariff on my prevoius Nokia 6303, so I am puzzled why this doesn't seem to work now?

Any help really appreciated

Cheers!

MMS is data, data requires a blackberry data plan, sounds like you need to change your tariff.

Would this be definately correct, i.e. you must have a BB dataplan in order to send MMS picture messsages?

I've spoken to 02 who don't seem to think it is, they've just sent me some settings via email to ensure my BB 9780 is set up for picture messages - which it seems to be....but - I just cannot seem to send picture messages still..... all I get is a little red "x" next to the message and nothing happens....

Any ideas anyone?

You will have to add the O2 Blackberry Bolt-on for £5 a month as MMS is data.
