Blackberry Bold 9780 Users: Does your camera do this?
Hi all
I've noticed sometimes. when using my BB 9780 camera that the camera function doesn't work. What is happening is, once you've opened the camera, either by the side default button on the phone, or indeed via the onscreen menu, sometimes when you press the middle camera button via the trackpad, it starts to auto focus - but then doesn't take any pictures. I've had the phone 4 weeks now and it's happened twice. Yesterday, for example, I was trying to take some indoor piccys with Autoflash "on" and the flash would fire up once the button is pressed but no click sound or picture taken. Then, once the camera viewfinder comes back on again, using the trackpad you cannot then select the middle camera button - it hops past it all the time... I did some research online and sadly this seems to be a known bug. Someone had even posted a You Tube video of this scenario - and it is exactly the same as mine - hence why I realise that this is not unique to my phone - sadly.... The workaround (according to the You Tube poster) was to put the phone in 'Face Detection' mode - apparently this clears the problem - or will, at least, allow you to take pictures. Not tested this out yet as it suddenly started working ok .... Just thought I would let others know and indeed, would be interested if any other owners of this handset have experienced this annoying problem? |
