IPad on T-Mobile or Orange ?
I know this is about the IPad but its more a network question.
I am looking to get a IPad (cant be bothered waiting for the IPad2 plus I think it will be very expensive). T-Mobile have the faster data speeds and have offered me a free 3GB data bundle to go with it. The downside is their insurance is C--P and apart from the 3GB bundle you cannot buy extra. Orange has the slower speeds but slightly better 3G coverage at the moment. Orange only comes with the 1+1 GB data plan but you can buy either a extra 3 or 15 GB of data should you need it. Orange care is 1000 times better then the insurance T-Mobile use. So weighing up all the pros and cons of both networks who would you go for ? |

As the 3G networks of these providers will merge together later in the year, i'd go with Orange (from the information you've given)

The iPad 2 is going to be announced on Wednesday next week... Surely you can wait that long? I doubt it will cost any more than the original iPad. Also: Are you wanting to get one from a network because you need the 3G, or because you just want a subsidised iPad? |

I have a baby due in around 5 months. I can afford the £100.00 + £25.00 pm anything else is going on baby stuff. So whilst I would love the next IPad at the very least its going to go back up to £200.00. I suppose whilst I am not planning on claiming, insurance is a big factor as there might be a large risk with a toddler in the house. Then again I dont have to pay for any extra data with T-Mobile as they have offered me a 3GB bundle for free. T-Mobile does seem to be the more robust network. If T-Mobile did T-Mobile care then they would win hands down. Its just that I have read so many bad stories about Phone Safe.

IMO T-Mobiles 3G coverage is superior to Orange where i am, and the speeds are very consistent and high.

I called Oranges sales team and explained what T-Mobile had offered me with the extra data. The person I spoke to said it was a good deal they were unable to match it and I should go to T-Mobile. I did try another sales person a while latter and this time they all but accused me of lying ,as T-Mobile would not offer me such a thing.
So with those words ringing in my ears I have to say the future might be bright but it is no longer Orange. I cant believe that a network can go so rotten in such a short period of time. I will be giving T-Mobile all my business from now on.

T-Mobile and Orange are more or less the same company now and will be completely in the near future. We got a 32gb 3G+WIFI from 3 - £250 upfront and £25pm but you get 15GB allowance for that
