I'll NEVER use a Samsung mobile again after having a Tocco.
Its a feature phone with a low resolution screen that runs Opera Mobile fairly well.

Its closest to the Wildfire compared to all the other mentioned phones.

As people have already pointed out, you can get yourself an unlocked version of this phone considerably cheaper (and it is possible to get the 3 version of MSN and Skype if you want it). Factor in the extra resale value of the unlocked version of the handset (or extra cost of unlocking before selling on) when you decide to upgrade next time and the price difference is even greater.

Only you know if buying the 3 version is the better option for you - I know it wouldn't be for me!
Tell me where I can get the grey version for alot cheaper? I can see Phones4u at £129+£10 top up, but thats white.

I'm with the Wildfire. What I cannot understand is the complaint about the screen. Personally it is as good as anything else at the price. It also has a very good camera with flash.

This isn't quite true. As a number of people have pointed out, there are similarly (and even cheaper) phones available with better screens. Such options involve unlocking, rooting, rom flashing etc (all things the OP doesn't want to do) or are not as good in other ways, some of which are specific to the OP (loss of faith in particular brands etc).

Everything is a trade off and some aspects are obviously more important to some people than others. What some of us see as a minor inconvenience is a deal-breaker to someone else.

...hence the fact there isn't just one iPhone out there that everyone flocks to buy.

On a serious note, the screen resolution will be a problem to some people and not to others.

End of story.

I could do what people are telling me to do with the San Francisco - i.e. unlock it, custom rom, all for £100.

BUT, if I buy the wildfire at £159 - I get £12 Quidco and a £10 Accessories Voucher from 3. I also get 12 month warrenty - something that will be void if I start mucking around with custom stuff. I don't like the look of the SF and the fact it will have branding on the back of it courtesy of Orange.

As I have said. Just because different people are saying why a particular phone is better in their opinion, doesn't mean you have to agree.

It's up to you to decide which of all the suggestions best meets your own needs.

I was going to make a joke about it being a 'terrible phone' and that you have made a 'huge mistake', but too many people don't seem to get irony, so I decided against it.

Anyway, I'm glad you have found the 'One' for you!

On a serious note, the first thing I would do with that phone is install launcher pro to replace the LG launcher and install a decent keyboard!

Don't know how familiar you are with Android apps in general, but if not here's a start:

Take a look at Handcent which is an excellent free SMS app replacement (although a don't know how good the SMS app on the OO is.)

Also have a look at Dialer One which is a fantastic dialer replacement app that gives you T9 contact searching à la HTC Sense.

Wouldn't I have to enter the app first before dialling?! Seems a bit longwinded?

Only the same as entering the default dialer app. No more long-winded than normal dialing! And it is considerably faster, especially if you have a lot of contacts you would otherwise have to scroll through.

My friend got the red one two days ago, it looks very nice and without any problems until now.

Why, what has happened? Or do you mean no problems so far?
