I don't think Laura's skating position matters a great deal with respect to the public vote she's getting, I think it's pretty low regardless. Where position will make a difference is judges score, the first person generally comes lower on the leaderboard than they otherwise would. I think being on later might give her a higher score and thereby protect her (as I think it has been the last few weeks) n perhaps also a bounce vote from being in the bottom two this week will get her through next week, but I doubt change of position in itself would affect her public votes, I like Laura, but her votes are just low. Laura is reliant on her leaderboard position. Coming on later should get her further up it, but she won't win anyway, cos she doesn't have the vote. She 'll get to the final, maybe via a skate off or two.

Agreed. I had no idea who she was. My 7 year old niece knew her... but i'm 20 years older than her, so that's where the problem lies. Most of her fanbase are young children, who won't be allowed to vote.

I'd never heard of her before this show, what kids' TV show did she present? Aren't the parents of the kids who watched her making up her voting base? To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't her and Sam the bottom of the votes above the two lowest every week.

I don't think that would amount to much of a vote to be honest, I can't see kids crying about parents not voting for her. She isn't known to the general public. If Sam is below her than it would mean a skate off between them happening soon. I can't see Laura winning that and even if she did the vote in the final is all down to public support. I think she'll come second or third.

I have a feeling she could end up doing a Zoe Salmon and finishing 5th. Denise, Johnson, Chloe and Jeff are currently in her way.
I doubt ITV would fix the vote, too risky. If they wanted to manipulate things they could tho do it via the vts. Say for example If u have 60 stroppy minutes in a week where u were really tired they could just use that rather than the rest of the week if they wanted to shaft you and they could do that without risking anything. Lots of people in the past have complained about their vts. They could easily edit people certain ways and that can lead to popularity increase/decrease pretty rapidly. So they wouldn't need to risk fixing a vote.
I do think tho that they def like a big gun going early as it gets media attention and increases the vote. Simon cowell saved Jedward for that reason as perhaps DOI saved Kerry for coverage.
