Sounds confusing. Anyway we never saw the 8th doctor regenerate into the 9th so I guess it's possible. All this speculation is annoying. Talking of the library episodes I picked up on the line from River Song the other day when she was talking about the doctor and said "I'd trust him with my life at the end of the universe and believe me we've been there." - must have been referring to the pandorica. Also what's with the ending with handcuffs every single time they meet!
Robbo there's one little snag with your plan that she will die. You've forgotten that technically she's already dead. She died in the library so I don't think she can ever die before that. Plus they had years of history so I don't think she's going anywhere soon.
