ok I have a question. If Sophie happens to be ill on a Tuesday does that mean Dan gets to be Dot?

The understudies are great
Having seen it yesterday I do wonder at the wisdom of having Sophie on as Dan's understudy though. I liked Sophie on OTR but us fans are loyal to our Dots and as the bookings in the early days of the show were mainly due to the tv show I think many people would have preferred to see Emma or Ceili.
It is funny, when Sophie was named as the alternate I didn't really see this as a problem as it gave her fans a chance to see her which was good. I even thought I might prefer to see her than an understudy but in reality it proved not to be the case.

If I was a Sophie fan I am sure I would feel the same and wouldn't want to see Dan instead.

I think this will matter less as the show goes on as new bookings depend less and less on OTR.

There seems to be some sort of cold or flu epidemic going around.
Legally Blonde is also without their leading lady, Susan has been out for the week.

Hopefully Dan's fully recovered by next week.

Hi rages,

So what did you think of Sophie's Dorothy then?

I have read somewhere else that her Dorothy had no personality... I fancy booking tickets to see Sophie myself, but I can't seem to do it.

No. Tuesday will remain Dan's day off, so she gets a proper rest. If not Sophie on a Tuesday, then Emma or Ceili.

Of course, even a minor cold is a big deal when you have a part like Dot to play.

So pleased I got to see Dan.

Ah Man!

If I ever go see Sophie I would bring a bucket of tomatoes and throw them at her while screaming "Your not as good as our Dan and you never will be!"

Before people get upset I'm only joking! I would never do that in real life.

You would not do that but you would think it!

I had a feeling something like this would happen. It's why I booked my ticket early in the run.

Now I have seen Dan, I would be more than happy to see Sophie to compare and contrast.

Sorry, I think a lot of unhealthy things.

I want somebody to go a give an unbiased opinion on both Dots. Because all I'm reading is 'oh, she is awesome' 'she was great' they don't mean anything. I want a full report.

I would love to compare.

I think Dan being off will motivate the Dan fans, that have missed her, into booking again, I can't wait but I would like a good seat, this time i was too far to the side and maybe a bit too far forward although this wouldn't have mattered if I had been in the middle.

I have spent all morning trying to find a seat but it seems all the best ones have gone for the performances I can make. I shall not give up though.

Im not getting images of you as the old man out of UP giving NHS staff alot of trouble

I was too far forward (second row back in stalls). I got no view of the yellow brick road or the ruby slippers.

Ironic though that this week if Sophie plays Dot tomorrow she will have done longer than a week!

Well done to Sophie, 8 shows in a week deserves recognition

Maybe ALW is being overcautious with Danielle, didnt something happen to Connie and he said he would make sure something similar didnt happen to Danielle?

Congrats to Sophie, I'm sure the Ginger Nuts are very proud of her!
