The days of the mobile simply been a phone are long gone. Its now a all in one communication/entertainment device. Having said that what do you use your phone most for ? Is it still as a phone ? Texting or using the web or playing games ?

Primarily as a business telephone.
Secondary, staying in touch with my email inbox.
Texts no more than a couple a month.
Internet, not more than 5 minutes a month.

Probably primarily for browsing the web

I use mine mostly to email my friends. If were not after an instant response we just normally email each other instead of texting for some reason. It's just a habbit that has stuck and one we can't seem to break.

Apart from emails I would say I use it a lot for viewing Facebook, as well as a few apps that basically act like RSS readers for sites such as Engadget, Joystiq, CNET etc.

I honestly think the feature I least use my mobile for is actually making calls. Hence why when looking for a mobile package I care more about the data bundles than minutes/texts.

I'm exactly the same. Text more than I do call but even then I don't use a lot of texts but do use more texts than minutes. Use more data than I do the other parts if my tariff

I've noticed a change in the way agents respond to me when I call each year to upgrade / get a better package. A couple of years ago they would be shocked when I would turn down deals offering 1000 minutes and unlimited texts. I normally respond with "I use about 40 minutes a month and send probably a 100 texts, I use it for the web more." But with the upturn in smartphone use they seem to understand that this is a growing trend now.

Telephone 99% of the time. None of them are much use for internet browsing, the screens are too small, listen to music, use the web, GPS etc and you get a flat battery so I tend to use a dedicated GPS and the cars music system.

Texting 37%
Calling 23%
Applications 25% (games & playing with paint)
Web 10%
Email 3%
Music 2%

all in all I seem to get two days out of it before I need to charge.

Mostly backgammon and sudoku. Some web-browsing and ebooks. General notes and shopping lists several times a week. It's my back-up alarm clock too.

Texting (Sony expedia or experia whatever it is) X10 Mini more or less 95% of my use is for texting alone. Occasionally make the odd call and download the odd app but that's about it.
