Humax 9300 simultaneous recording problem

Sorry if this is posted somewhere else on forum but I am having problem with recording 2 channels simultaneously. It works fine if I just press the record button for both channels but if I schedule with EPG it will just record 1 programme in full and then only the part of second one which doesn't overlap

Something is amiss. Try a reset to factory defaults.

Just tried that with no success. I have noticed that the second channel (which doesn't record) shows as 'no or bad signal' once the first channel starts recording

What signal strength and quality have you got ?

And do you have channels in the 800 range of channel numbers?

I'll check both this evening

It sounds like a faulty tune to me. Does PiP work on channels from different MUXs?

I thought that Martin but the original post says he can record two manually at the same time (unless of course he picked two channels from the same mux)

In answer to your various question

1. Signal strength is around 75% for all channels with 100% quality

2. PIP is not working for different MUXs so maybe when I tested with manual record I did pick same MUX

I have just tried resetting to factory defaults and manually retuning using the channel info from digitaluk.co.uk but still PIP not working. Any ideas?

It sounds very like a tuner failure to me. Any evidence of water in the aerial cable when you unplug the aerial cable?

No sign of any water - unit is only 2 weeks old so I suppose a trip back to the shop is called for.

That would be my advice. You have been unlucky; tuner failures are not very common and a significant proportion of the failures appear to be due to water getting into the aerial cabling and then the tuner.

Richer Sounds swapped it with no fuss - new PVR in place and all working fine. Thanks for all posts.
