Spicy, hot food.
To me, tastes of nothing but a burning, uncomfortable sensation and a lot of faffing around with drinking water or milk!

What food to people seem to love but seems completely strange to enjoy to you?

Definitely fried eggs or steak, find them both horrible mainly due to the texture of them. Another is oysters, they taste like mucus, horrible texture.

Yuck oysters! Why would anyone want fishy bogueys, if you'll excuse me.

Tea also. Just seems like a cup of hot water to me. Whats the point?

I feel the same about spicy food. A chicken korma is about as spicy as I go.

The other thing I really don't get is Marmite. It's just horrible. And mushrooms have an awful texture.

I can't understand when people go yuk when they see bugs and things on bush tucker trials but will eat lobster, prawns, squid and oysters etc. They all look the same to me.
As you can probably tell I can't stand seafood. :0)

I love spicy food and Marmite lol. I can't stand avocado or olives. I also love salmon but hate smoked salmon, the texture is awful.

Caviar. I really dislike the texture and popping sensation in my mouth.

Not the thread for me, I love all these things and soon somebody will bring up liver, kidneys and gizzards. Love them too . Not that fond of tripe, though the way the Florentines cook it is not all bad.

If pushed I'm not keen on "Mild Cheddar" Whats the point?

Whelks - I love most kinds of seafood, but these chewy & tasteless molluscs are not nice.

I didn't think I was a fussy eater but:-

celery (just yeuch)
oysters (agree about the bogey thing)
olives (once mistook a green one for a grape)
poached eggs (reminds me of oysters)

There are certain things I can't eat such as butter, cream, milk, yoghurt as I have a lactose intolerance but that's different.

My neighbour is a nightmare. She hates rice, pasta, fish (unless it's haddock poached to death), mushrooms, spinach, eggs and the list goes on.

Even as a kid I couldn't stand this. Otherwise I'll try most things except tripe, which my mother loved, and whitebait, which OH loves.

The whole idea of eating red meat rare - doesn't it taste bloody in your mouth?

It just makes me feel queasy.

I think that I'd eat most things listed here. I do have a problem with eating raw tomatoes, although I can eat them in bolognese or on pizza's etc. One thing I really can't eat though is Soft Cod Roes... :bleurgh:

I used to feel like that too but I got fed up of ruining steak so one day I just ate it bloody and it was much nicer, juicier and more tender.

If you cut yourself don't you lick the wound?

I hate spending loads of money on prime fillet beef and guests saying they can't eat it rare. It's a sin to overcook it imo!
