So if I install this, I can put all the Non Freesat channels that I want to watch in the Freesat list.

I can then just use the Freesat list and would have no need to switch to Non Freesat mode for normal operation.

Have I understood that correctly?

Would this give us the ability to reorder the channel list in the schedule (well, everywhere, really)?

And use a manual timer on non-Freesat channels?

If it does these two things it is an amazing and very significant achievement.

It really works

You basically download the channel list via ftp and then edit the list with the program provided

then your able to go down the list and change channels from Non-Freesat mode into freesat

I now watch skynews, film 24 etc on freesat mode the only downside is there is no tv guide for them channels.

Can you add a manual timer to the pseudo freesat channels ?.

If you tune to say BBC-HD's non-freesat entry and record is it free of encryption ?

Are you sure, normally you have to go into non-freesat and reboot to get recordings without encryption

Does the edited file survive a prompted rescan or do you have to reprocess it every time?

Don't do a re-scan if the box asks as you loose all the channels from non-freesat mode.

-----------

I had some issues with reloading saved channels that I put through the channeleditor

To get round this I 1st deleted all my freesat channels and non-freesat on the humax, then did a full scan - then moved the channels on the humax to the order I wanted.

I then made a backup of that channel list as it seems you can only edit it once - if you try to re-edit a saved list the program would crash, so always keep an original backup

Two problems with that.

1) I usually turn everything on a few minutes before I want to use it so that it gets all that over and done with. (It's immensely annoying watching it crawl through the rescan only to find:

Added:0
Removed:0
Changed:1

and then find the next day when checking the changelog that it was all just to change "Sooperdooper Music" to "SooperDooper Music". )

2) If you refuse a rescan, occasionally you lose channels (because they have moved).

with that you only need do the scan the once (Full scans on Both freesat & non-freesat) this makes a good original copy.

If there's a channel change or a channel moves, Drop the Original File back onto the humax

Let it find the channels that moved, maybe just do a freesat scan, its pretty quick.

Drag the updated channel list back off the box, keep that safe (that is now your NEW original backup)

Then Edit a copy of that file, though ChannelEditor and push the file back over onto the box - any new channels added or moved will show up fine.

I pushed all my non-freesat channels that I like up to 5000, that way it only takes a few minutes to make them go into freesat quicker.

Many of the channels in my list show appear with rubbish in the file names.

Sadly I have found that if I watch RTL2 in Freesat mode, my Freesat timers don't work. Recording does start when I switch to a Freesat channel, and continues if I switch back to RTL2.

Still now I can select the BBCi streams directly.

What I also want to do is change the Audio PID to get rid of the 5.1 sound which my HiFi interprets as clicks.

Just had similar experience to machare

Watching SKY NEWS (That I moved over to freesat)

Tried to record something on BBC1 normal freesat timer

20 minutes in and nothing, flicked over to the channel and then it started recording.

Its behaving as if sky news was still in non-freesat.

Shame it don't work, I've made the switch back to raydon's hopefully mogie might be able to fix this bug.

It is likely that the Sky News transponder doesn't have the stream that the Humax uses for working out which programmes are starting on other channels.

When in non Freesat mode and tuned into a non Freesat channel, the HDR will switch to and record a Freesat channel. - So why won't it do this in Freesat mode?

I've tried to load the channel edit firmware. I get the updating screen, but nothing happens
I have successfully implemented the Media server firmware "mod". Any one any ideas? I would like to reorder my channels, not going to move any non freesat channels onto freesat with the issues reported.

Thanks, Woolfynorm.
