We dont have many adele threads at present so though we could have some fun with guessing the album sales for Adeles 21 album in the wonderful US of A for the weeks and months ahead.
I am bound to get egg on my face with this but who cares its just a bit of fun.

Here are my predictions, slighty on the high side just in case she does better then I think she will.

Week 1 300K - 350K we all know its going to be about that
Week 2 90K - 140K
Week 3 60K - 90K
Week 4 30K - 50K
Month 2 <30K a week
Month 3 <20K a week
Month 4 <10K a week

No prizes if anyone is proven to be very accurate but if my predications are a long way out I will promise to curb my posts a bit stating all the fantastic music records that Taylor swift has broke in her short career.
And that includes the 1.1 million albums she sold in one week in the USA

Happy guessing

This is serious stuff, it appears you do not have Adeleittis as I first thought.

As Duncan Bannatyne might say when faced with well, Id' better not say what I was originally going to put...count me out.

But good luck in your venture, geordielady. I wish you all the best.

After a week at #2, Adele returns to #1 on the HITS Album chart, as her XL/Columbia release 21 adds another 98k to her total, now over 750k and counting.

Poor geordielady.

Although, to her credit, she has stopped posting in Adele threads recently.

OK so it looks like I was about a week out, will be interesting how it compares to my month 2 and month 3 figures.

But you didn't have any faith in your fav artist to even post a guess.

Adele threads have gone quiet, hardly anyone posts in them now, only to post album sales

Thats why konebyvax kicked this thread of mine off again to get some adele interest on the forum , saw a fantastic artist last night, still revelling in that to worry about some UK singer.

I'll bump the thread up a bit - don't think konebyvax will like it though.

Taken from Wiki
The album's sound is described as classic and contemporary roots and country music. The change in sound from her first album was the result of her bus driver playing contemporary Nashville music when she was touring the American South.

Spin.com article
And the new record finds the singer ditching her Brit-flavored R&B in favor of classic and contemporary roots and country music.

"It's quite different from the first record," Adele tells SPIN.com. "I got really into [country singer and one-time Elvis Presley tourmate] Wanda Jackson, and it's sort of like I'm stronger with this record." Cut in studios in Malibu and London, Adele worked with some of pop's top producers and songwriters, including Rick Rubin, Paul Epworth, and OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder.

MORE ADELE ON SPIN.COM

Adele adds that the country-flavored vibe of the new record was borne out of genuine love for the genre. She was introduced to contemporary Nashville music specifically from her bus driver while on tour in the South. "He listened to all this amazing country music and we'd rock out late at night, chain smoking and listening to Rascall Flatts," says Adele. "It was really exciting for me because I never grew up around [that music]."

Don't think you can argue with that - it's straight from the horses mouth so to speak

Don't think he'll like this either

Funny, GL, because you're pretty much the only one on here who posts in the Taylor Swift AT. Lonely, are you?

As for Adele's influences and writing contributers etc - as someone (can't remember who, sorry) said, Adele has the ideas and writes the songs. She then teams up with collaborators who put ideas in to make the songs even stronger. What would you rather? An artist who writes brilliant songs, sometimes with the input of a few others, or an artist who writes mediocre songs (e.g. Taylor Swift) mostly by themselves?

I know which one I'd choose. Plus Adele wrote 19 herself, didn't she?

geordielady/Adele thread, again?

OP takes an awful lot of interest in someone they're obviously not keen on.

Someone PM'ed me about this as have stopped visiting adele threads.

You lot need to check the date, this was a post I made over a week ago, if people want to start dragging old posts of mine up and then start complaining about me posting in here then please read the dates of the posts before writing such crap.

I have already said in another Adele thread that i am not going to discuss this one dimensional, small time UK co-writing singer anymore.

Please people stop bringing up my old posts and create your own please, pretty please.
Do what I do in Taylor swift threads and discuss your artist, instead of me.

I feel the need once again, in light of Adele's 90k prediction, to point out the pure fail of this post.

LOL. It seems like our Adele haters just love being wrong all the time . My favourite prediction comes from our US-based Adele hater, bananasplit:

When Britney releases at the end of March, Adele will be long forgotten. Adele is receiving so much attention because no other artists are releasing at the moment.

Yeah, theyve all gone underground since Flop Fatale has been released.

Well, to be fair, GL was predicting from a biased viewpoint, her 'rather high' predictions are skewed by her personal taste. She was never going to be accurate and always tended to underestimate the figures.

I'm really delighted for Adele, as I think it's great to have artists who have genuine talent, doing so well.
I'm a classic rock fan predominatly, so I like the ethic of writing your own songs and being able to perform them live, and I also like female vocalists. Adele ticks all my boxes

I said at that time when 400K opening weeks were being thrown around that some people might be disappointed. The only other female artist that can open higher than Adele this year is GaGa and maybe Beyonce (depending on when she releases). Either way it's all about long term performance and not just a big opening week.

Quite. And Britney will most likely drop like a stone as well.

Agreed, Britney will go into free fall after this week. Has anyone's 2nd week sales beaten '21' in the US yet? If she was to get anything like 95k this week, as predicted, that would be only just over a 1% decrease from last week, which would be amazing!

It's pretty similar to the pattern in the UK, where her drops were all less than 5% for about 8 weeks.

Britney has a few bits of promo lined up for next week so her album sales may be stable in the second week.
