I watched all the performances on YouTube and can't say I was overly impressed.
Clint was unexciting and karaoke (in spite of what Randy said

), Jovany, Stefano and Tim all bored me, Jordan had a terrible song (OMG is NOT a singer's song), Robbie was shaky and sounded strained at times to me, and Jacob (who was praised to high heaven) sounded quite off-pitch and lacking control.
Scotty, Paul, James were all fine - if not very inspiring - but I thought Brett was awful and quite cringeworthy.
But by far my biggest disappointment of the night was Casey. I know he was ill but, as I suspected, I didn't find him half as appealing without an instrument (the double bass particularly). He seemed to spend most of the time growling rather than singing and sounded really angry and aggressive to my ears. Not pleasant.

I wouldn't want to listen to five minutes of that let alone an album's worth. I'm sure he'll be safe this week but I don't think he'll last long unless he backs off the growling and shows what his actual
singing voice is like. At the moment, I'm not sure I even know
Oh and by the way, I never thought I'd say this - and I may be the only one! - but I DO miss Simon. I thought Steven and Jennifer were very bland in their comments for the most part, and Randy, who now has to adopt the "straight talker" role, isn't right for it. He can't think of anything much to say beyond "pitchy"

Simon's schtick may have gotten a bit old over the years, but he was able to spice things up when he wanted to, and he wasn't afraid of being unpopular. Personally, I think they needed to dump Randy and find a new "hatchetman" to replace Simon, but we'll see.
