My T-Mobile iPhone 4 can be tethered, and I haven't been told off for anything.

Do you mean T-Mobile allow tethering or you have jailbroken to tether?

To be honest, unless you take the mick, they aren't really going to notice.

The wifi should be good with 3s unlimited data plan.

Anyone got a full list of features/changes or is it going to be only a few of them?

Currently 4.2.1 is up to date. Only a few days to wait for 4.3 though.

I updated my 3GS once and it stopped being a good phone.

I won't be updating my iPhone 4 unless I read 100% positive comments about it.

Sadly, but inevitably, marks the end of iOS updates for my trusty iPhone 3G

How many years did they update it for? Im tied to my iPhone for another 20 or so months so do you reckon I will get updated for this whole time? If not I could always buy a newer iPhone on pay as you go then transfer the sim.

T-Mobile allow it, when i have been on Orange in the past, the option is disabled and tells me to contact Orange UK. I am also PAYG.

Yea you may be right about that. I haven't used it really heavily yet.

i had my 3G from January 2009 until January this year and got every update that was available in that time limit. the next upgrade (after this one) probably will see the end of updates for the 3GS.

I think the cheapest Orange tethering bundle is £5pm.

Mine is updated now, web browsing does seem faster IMO, few of the settings moved around/changed a little etc.

And Personal Hotspot works great!

Ok cool thanks.

Finally got it working now, I had to disable Kaspersky to let it download for some reason.

Personal Hotspot is brilliant so far, got it connected to my laptop.

Just found a bug.

With Wifi hotspot on, it puts a blue bar at the top. I just went in Settings, General, Passcode Lock, and the keypad has been partly pushed off the bottom of the screen.

Edit: hmm seems to be on everything, not sure if its meant to be like it or not? The 0 is partly covered up.

On my 3GS I have the option for personal hotspot, I thought this was only on iPhone 4? However if I go to enable it tells me to phone orange

I got my 3G on launch day, July 2008. It's been out of contract for over a year now, so it's not bad. Mind you, the iOS4 update was really a bit more than it could cope with, they'd have probably been better having the last 3.x version as the last supported.

I'll stick with Jailbroken 4.2.1 for now on my iPhone 4. Nothing on 4.3 really makes me want to upgrade at the moment, not if it means losing the JB.
