Worst battery life you've ever seen on a phone?
For me 1 phone stands out from the crowd, the HTC Mozart was the first phone I ever had that only lasted to lunch time before turning of, there also seems to be plenty of reports claiming the same

That is bad; its the least smart part of a smart phone ....
Worst was probably the ZTE Blade, which would often need charging by about 6pm. Best I've ever had was the BB 7230 and 7290, both would go for 7 days of continual usage, pulling in mails 24 hours a day. But then they didn't have a huge uber bright backlit display. |

iPhone 3GS which I used for a while as a company phone. Would charge it up overnight and after some medium use throughout the day (30min worth of calls and checking emails every hour) the battery would be almost dead by 5pm.

Yet, they advertise a 415 hour battery life. Crazy!
I see you're no longer forum host. ![]() 415 hours of standby time, that won't be actually doing anything, screen/wifi/bluetooth switched off. In an area with very strong reception. Talk time for calling normally seems to be based in a scenario where they're stood right next to the base station, and the phone isn't always hunting around for a signal. |

I see you're no longer forum host. ![]() ![]() The forum host thing was a trial and they've decided not to continue with it as the admin staff in charge of looking after hosts wasn't able to commit as much time to it as they wanted to. So all forum hosts (there was about 10 of us) have been downgraded to ordinary members again |

HTC desire. And I have syncing and WiFi off when I don't require it. Still only lasts 5 hours on a average day.

From my own experience and my immediate family just about any smartphone are poor, phones include G1, iPhone 4, Desire and Desire HD7. I did have a RAZ and that was pee poor too, 30 minute call and you were dead in the water.

Motorola MPX200 lasted 4hours as long as I didn't use it less than 2 if I did. Took it back after a week and got the Orange SPV as a replacement.

Not the battery life itself but how the battery life is monitiored on a few Nokia phones I have had. From having three / four bars it will suddenly drop straight to one and be running out of charge. Bloody annoying.

Going back a few years, the Siemens C35 lasted about 2½ days and that was without making any calls, sending/receiving texts and not using the backlight. Went back to Nokia after that one.

I remember having that issue on my 3310 which for a dumb phone with limited use needed charged every day, also on an 8310 although it lasted near 5 days but it would stay full and then suddenly drop |

It's all relative surely?
My Galaxy S needs a charge every 18 hours or so, which when compared to my Ericsson GA628 (circa '98) is pathetic, as it would go five or six days. So yeah, the Galaxy S is the worst battery life phone I've had - but it's also the best phone I've had with regards to its capabilities and the services it offers me. Would I go back to using my trusty Ericsson now, with its positively tantric battery life and its one line display? Erm, no. Reginald |

Easy to answer.. my current phone a Motorola Milestone has by far the worst battery life. For me every time I got a newer phone the battery life went down. My phone history is:
Motorola V620, V3i, Maxx V6, Milestone The newer the handset the worse the battery life. The Milestone is always running low on battery by around 6pm if taken off charge in the morning. Something needs to happen with future smartphones to ensure we get back to the battery life days of the past! |

Worst ever has to be the Sony Ericsson Satio - with 3G, bluetooth, WiFi turned off and brightness turned down to minimal levels it STILL only lasts about a day!
Dunno if its faulty but the one I had was ridiculously bad! To the point where I had to buy extra batteries and keep them charged and with me if I wanted to make more than a dozen calls lasting more than 5 minutes each in a day!
