The New SE Xperia Arc

The new Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc is coming out next month. I am tempted to get one but just wondering if its all hype promising to be good. It certainly goes in their favour in the previews but I know thers been bad comments about their older Xperia models.

I don't know whether to wait to see what the fuss is or just to think sod it and go for the HTC Desire.

Anyone think based on what they read if the Arc will be whats it cracked up to be?

I understand that the newer XPERIA phones are a lot less invasively customised than the X10 was, which is good news. The hardware is stunning, and the specs are practically identical to the current top-end phones so if it's priced right, it's a good option. I wouldn't go for the Desire over it though, as it's slower and smaller. Now the Desire HD, that's a viable alternative. It comes down to hardware preference really, as Android can be customised to suit your tastes either way.

my xperia mini has died afer only 4 months, tech guys say it must have been dropped\(it hasnt) they will not fix it as it would cost them yoo much. I feel after 4 months maybe SE has asoftwear problem so i personally would stay clear

Carphone Warehouse taking pre-orders. Comes with Android 2.3 and 4.2 inch screen, available sim-free for £424. Not a bad price! I'm almost tempted!

I have been looking at getting one of the Sony Ericsson Xperia phones on 02 pay and go are they any good.
The X10 and X10 mini looks good from what I have seen of it but my local 02 shop only has the X8 and X10 mini pro on display and im not to keen on the pull out keypad on the x10 mini pro.

I've seen the videos.

It's very laggy, very blue, it includes that disaster they call timescape, the interface isn't anywhere near as good as HTC's, Samsung's or even Android's default version, and the buttons use that cheap-looking silver shiny plastic.

That's enough to put me off.
