Is it better to go Simplicity or stay PAYG after first year on iPhone?
My year of free data on my iPhone on O2 PAYG ends in ten days. On average I spend less than £10 per month on calls and texts; I'm on Favourite Place so get free landline and O2 calls within the local area.
So is it cheaper to stay on the same tariff and buy a data bolt-on or go for the cheapest SIM-only tariff (£20 per month or £15 if you sign up for a year I think)? I'm not sure how it would work with PAYG - do you have to top up the cost of the bolt-on every month, but the cost of calls comes out of any balance left over when the bolt-on is deducted? |

I'm on simplicity PAYG prices start at £10 a month. I pay the £15 for 100 minutes any network, unlimited texts and unlimited broadband.

you have to have credit to pay for your bolt on... so if you have plenty of credit you don't have to top up. But if you don't top up you don't qualify for your free allowance the following month.
I only ever text and surf on o2 so... I top up fifteen and get free web and 500 texts... I have topped up for the last two months and my balance is now £30... so instead of topping up for the next two months I will buy bolt ons.... |

I have an iPhone 4 on PAYG. I spend £10 every 3 months. With this, I get:
Free unlimited same network calls Free unlimited same network texts Free unlimited Internet Free unlimited calls to all 0800 numbers Calls for 8p a minute Texts for 4p The best customer service out of all the networks. Outstanding network coverage It's 100% owned by a well-known, trustworthy and popular company. Can you guess who I'm with?

You should have mentioned that Giffgaff's free internet has been extended to the 31st of March.
Free same network calls only apply if you hang up and call back every 60 minutes. At least that's how I understand how it workd. Free texts to giffgaff people is awesome... Just try to convince everyone else to go on Giffgaff. It's a pain I'll tell you. Other than that... I'm more than happy to pay £10 a month to get unlimited texts/data and 250 minutes
