what a stooopid question. No such thing as a better phone, its all down to YOUR needs and what you want in/from a phone.

Not really. You're buying into a platform not just an individual handset. Also iPhone has lots of restrictions that aren't on Android unless you jailbreak. E.g. Android natively has personal WiFi hotspot and things.

OP, always ignore anyone talking about any platform being categorically better than others. Sign of ignorance or fanboy-dom or both.

They asked which is the better handset, not specifically about platforms. IMO the iPhone beats the x10....

and I say that coming from a family that all own Androids.

OK, let's try again. What do YOU want the phone to do? The iPhone and X10 are very similar in their capabilities, but both of them have been out quite a while now.

Do you already have Apple products (iPod etc), so would it benefit you to have a phone that works with iTunes. Are you the sort of person who wants to do loads of customisation with their phone - live wallpapers, tweaking how the phone runs etc - Android is better for this.

If you just ask which one is better, all you'll do is cause yet another utterly boring and tiresome iOS vs Android thread, and there's already about a million of those on here!

ck7ah could have worded it better. But I generally agree with him.

The iPhone is good when it comes to the software. Plenty of apps available, easy to update the software through the use of iTunes etc.
The Xperia X10 is quite locked down for an Android phone, have you considered the Nexus S or HTC Desire HD? Better hardware, more up to date software, the ability to 'root' the device if you so wish to do so.
The Blackberry curve... It depends which model of the curve you're interested in. I'm assuming the Curve 3G. I've played around with the 8900 (The curve with the ball rather than the square pad thingy) and that's quite nice to use. The keyboard is fantastic! Gives you access to Blackberry Messenger too!

However...
The iPhone is not the phone with the best overall technology on the market.
Android is not the best OS when it comes to updates.
Blackberry is not the best brand when it comes to hardware specifications.

None of the different choices are perfect.
In the end it's all down to what you would like in a phone.
If you want lots of apps, think about an android phone or the iPhone.
If you don't want something that lots and lots of people have, choose an android phone.
If you want a messenger service on mobile that's actually good, a great keyboard (perhaps one of the best keyboards I've used on a phone), and fairly good software, choose the blackberry.

And no. I do not think Ping chat is good.

so why is it BETTER than the others?

it might be BETTER for YOU but not others.

Mobile phones are a personal choice. I have owned an iphone but currently have a blackberry bold 9870, i miss the presence of a physical keyboard.

If you think the iphone is the best, then you are definately deluded.....apple dont innovate anything new, the mobile phone has been out for decades, all apple have done is but their name on a mobile....the tablet pc has been out for a while, again same with the mp3 player.....apple havent invented anything new.
