Can anyone please recommend reliable on line firms who sell them or places that I can visit to buy one.

Cheers

Ask Nigel Goodwin where you can buy one, give him the model number.

You don't give people much time to reply, particularly on a Saturday night

Any Sony service dealer can order you the exact correct Sony replacement, and I believe you can even order them direct from Sony as an accessory from their website.

Sony TV remotes are generally EXTREMELY well priced, far chealer than most makes.

DSG's spares division Partmaster is always worth a look as well

www.partmaster.co.uk

I've used them a couple of times for replacement parts and found them reasonably priced and quick on despatch.

I ordered an ignition button for my hob...

It is about 20mm Diameter and 5mm Thick... costing £4
They charged £3.10 delivery and sent it in an A4 padded envelope...

I thought it was an empty package when it arrived

So check out the delivery charges before you order

In fairness to them an item like that (being 5mm thick) will be classed by the Post Office as a large letter. The days of sending an item like that with a normal 1st class stamp on them are over. The problem is that Royal Mail tend not to show much intelligence over these things - an example is I have contact lenses sent by post - half the time the postman cleverly manages to fit them through the letter box, the other half I end up having to collect from the sorting office..... Yet Boots (D&A) have stated that the packaging is designed to fit through a normal size letter slot - which ours is.
