forgotten password, trying to restore, ipod says it is disabled and connect to itunes, when i connect to itunes it says i need to enter a password on ipod????

Google 'DFU mode'. I think that can get around this problem. I never use the passcode 'feature' personally.

DFU mode will work, it is essentially a factory reset with whichever iOS version you go with (iTunes will go with the latest by default). Of course everything installed on the device will be wiped, but you should be able to restore most of it from iTunes.

Thanks, tried DFU and then managed to restore everything and after all that, the iPod was dropped today and the outer screen is smashed grrr........ looking on the net and the cheapest i can find to repair is £80, its a 4th gen, anyone else know if i can get it fixed cheaper??
