none of the above options appeal to me - i cant stand maple syrup - only the sweet sticky english syrup i've never even heard of having bacon with pancakes.

syrup - it's the only way or failing that sugar.

not a fan of lemon.

For thin European pancakes, definitely sugar and lemon. For thick puffy American pancakes, I adore them with what the Americans call Canadian bacon and maple syrup, yummy!

For brunch or breakfast pancakes I like eggs, spinach, mushrooms and caramelized onions. For dessert crepes it's got to be bananas/strawberries/raspberries with a dribble of chocolate sauce. Sometimes, during maple syrup season in Quebec like now, I like a plain crepe with just maple syrup on top.

Sugar and lemon

But I also love them with mince/carrots/onions. And the above with tuna, mayo, sweetcorn etc sounds lovely!

Americans have American Pancakes with bacon.

I would love to go to an American Diner to have this just to see what it is exactly - I have heard from different sources that Canadian Bacon is streaky bacon, back bacon, and the thicker gammon steaks, so it would be nice to know which one it is from a genuine source like an American Diner

I like our traditional pancakes with sugar and a dash of lemon.

I like my American Pancakes with blueberries and Golden Syrup

Just the classic lemon and sugar for me.

Maple syrup isn't too bad though in my opinion.

My three year old daughter loves pancakes with bacon for breakfast at the weekends.

I have to have them with maple syrup. I don't get the lemon and sugar thing

Cannot beat golden syrup with a side of ice cream. I love pancakes.

My partner, on the other hand, has them with plenty of lemon and sugar which I thought was gross to begin with, however after tasting it it's really not that bad, the sugar balances out the lemon's bitterness. Still stick to golden syrup for my topping, though. :]

I'm not a fan of English pancakes or crepes, but love the fluffy American or Canadian ones with blueberry syrup.

Kirsh and sour cherries (heat the kirsh with a bit of sugar) is a nice one for a more grown-up feel. Though I'm lemon/sugar mostly.

I am obviously abnormal as i dont have anything on your poll.

I was brought up to have freshly squeezed orange and sugar on my pancakes. My husband was brought up with the same combination. We are both born in Derbyshire. Is it a Derbyshire thing ??
