Are you using the very expensive Sony USB?

The NX series - apart from looking gorgeous - I believe has wifi hardware as standard.

Perhaps the router is set up not to allow connections?
The o2 router I use has a setting which prevents wireless devices logging on unless first registered.

You basically instruct the router to search for hardware, (which takes about 2 minutes,) and then complete the setup process for your wifi kit - usually the two coincide The kit is now registered and in future logs on without any fuss

On some routers (Orange Livebox and BT Hub for example) you have to push a 'pairing button' on the router before you can pair it.

Other than that, if you're having troubles try performing a factory reset on the TV (from the settings menu), I installed one recently and had loads of problems until I did that.

I did not know it was built in. Just looked at the Sony site & see it is, The price for a separate usb was over the top.

in the router switch off any security to see if it will connect

and add the MAC address manually as a trusted device
