I am thinking of using homeplug adapors in my house for the following application, I have shed which i installed power, the fuse board in the shed is approx 40 metres away from the main fuse board in the house, so if i had 1 homeplug adaptor obviously near my router which will be plugged into a house ring circuit will i reach the shed/?

The router sits near the main TV and i have a internet sony bravia bluray player which needs a internet connection connection, is there a kit which will enable me to take the cable from my router to the powerline adaptor but from the same adaptor i need to plug the internet tv into?

There are 4 port homeplugs available such as these

I used to have my media streamer and Sky HD box connected to it and then from the homeplug to the router.

The best prices/reliable sources would be Ebuyer/Play/Amazon rather than Ebay to be honest.

Right, I can gather that your TV is near the router, is the blue-ray player also near the router?

If so then you simply need to take an ethernet cable from the router and plug it into the TV and another into the blue-ray player, most routers come with at least 4 ports these days.

Plug one of the powerline adaptors into a plug near the router and connect an ethernet cable to it.

Plug the other powerline adaptor in the shed and then run another ethernet cable from it to whatever you want to join your network.

Easy.

Netgear make great powerlines and you can pick up a 200mbps pair for less than £80.

I've had this system running from my house to summerhouse which is about the same distance away. If both fuseboxes are on the same phase you should get an ok system.

You might want to look into external network cabling as it's not that expensive and the throughput will be much higher. I'm in the process of moving my servers to the summerhouse so will need a gigabit network connection between the two buildings.

And yolu'll be causing less wideband splatter.

Which is an issue which has already been thoroughly discussed on its own thread and for the sake of everyone's sanity I suggest remain there. Please?

40m cat5e gigabit external cable for under £20, better performance and no potential radio interference.
