Recording schedule vanished!
Kumquat2

Having set up all my recordings on my HDR-T2 when I got it a few weeks ago, it's cheerfully been recording all the new episodes of each series as requested. Until yesterday- when no new recordings were made. Having investigated, I've found the recording schedule page is now blank! How could all my scheduled series recordings have just vanished?

My parents experienced a similar but different glitch yesterday with their old 9200-T, again it made no recordings. They could still see all their programmes in the recording list though. The only way they got their box recording again though was to delete all the recording schedule and set it up again.

Could these problems be related? Seems a bit of a coincidence.....

Actually- thinking about it I rescanned the box on Friday as my TV told me there were new channels available- could that I have wiped the recording schedule??

That would do it. One of the most annyoing features of the box - not well thought out at all (especially with the number of changes that happen to the channel lineup).

Interestingly (and I know we are talking about the HDR in this thread) but the product features listed for the HD model state:

"Auto detection of new channels and services - no need to ever re-tune".

Now I have access to a HD box (my parents) and I have never noticed it automatically add new services? In fact I regularly re-scan it when I notice they are missing new channels or still have channels listed that have been removed.

Hurrah. My mystery solved at least. As you say- really annoying!!! But at least I will remember that in future now. Is this also the case if you rescan the old 9200-T as a matter of interest? (Don't remember my parents complaining about this so perhaps not!)

Now just the mystery of why my parents' box stopped recording to solve!

My thoughts on this issue and how I would solve it are in post 21 of this thread:

I did ask about the 9200T in this same thread but no one responded or at least did not contradict my assumption that the 9200T also wiped its schedule.

Bit too technical for me to be honest but it doesn't seem like it should be a hard one to solve- my old Thompson PVR that I used with Top Up TV never needed the schedule adding again after a rescan (which is why it never occurred to me this one might on Fri).

My parents on the other hand did not rescan their 9200T recently so their sudden recording failure yesterday wasn't down to that- they could still see their schedule but the box just was seemingly ignoring it.

With the 9200 the behaviour depends on the software version. The current 1.00.23 will wipe the schedule after a rescan.
