Using Hardrives via USB Ports on TV
Recently got a plasma LG TV. I've a hardrive with various TV shows and films on it however when I plugged the hardrive into the USB port on the TV all I could access from the hardrive was the music and photos on there. Anyone know how to get the programmes and films which are on my hardrive to play.

Not all TVs can play videos. My 18 month old Samsung can play MP3 music and JPG photos but not videos.
Look in the manual to see what your TV can play. |

if it has DNLA then that will do it
DNLA is the way forward . You are looking for a TV or any device like games console PS 3 / XBOX or Blu Ray player , DVD player that has it then you want a NAS hard drive with an ETHERNET connection to your wireless router. Everything in your house can then access your NAS hard drive its so simple whats your budget |

Other wise you'll need a media player. |
