Well today was a mixture of good and bad news with our beloved Orange. On the good news front they gave me a fantastic deal on a Samsung Galaxy Tab. I know newer models are due out, but at the price they offered it to me it was a steal.
The downside I have just run yet more speed tests (they upgraded the mast last week) and I reached the grand speed of 10kbps. So whilst I will have this great Samsung, will I be able to use it?
Come on Orange this has gone beyond a joke. I can understand slow speeds at peak times but this is C*%P 24/7.

3 upgraded the mast near me a few weeks ago and my mobile broadband speed has gone from 500KB/s to 40KB/s on a good day. Maybe there's a problem with the compatibility of the new mast hardware on existing network software that's yet to be ironed out? I thought 3 has just screwed it up but if Orange are having the same problems maybe there is something in it.

WOW, Just had a call from Oranges higher level network team. They are planning to do a major network upgrade in my area tomorrow. Route speed at the moment is 3.6mps that will be upgraded to 7.2. I really hope this works. To be very fair to Orange they have kept in touch with me since I reported it. Someone has updated my account everyday and I have been credited for data bundles I have not been able to use. So thank you Orange.

Well have just got in from work. Did a few tests and are hitting around the 1.9 meg download mark. Upload speeds still only 230kbps but a lot better then it was.

Mine is still rubbish. Clearly Orange engineers are better than 3's

You have to remember this was going on for about since the New Year. It has taken a lot of calls to and from Orange CS (who I must say have been great). I have had to provide dates, times PINGS DL and UL speeds. The only thing I suggest is that you keep a record which then gives you hard facts when you contact 3s CS.
