Blackberry Bold 9780: On 02 PAYG: How come my phone says GPRS and is not charging me?
Hi all
I must confess, don't understand what is happening here and wonder if anyone can help me. I am on 02's Simplicity Tariff, Pay as You Go, £5 per month for unlimited texts. I phoned up 02 today because I couldn't send or receive picture messages. Someone said I would need the blackberry bolt on in order to use this sort of service (?) but in my email chat to 02, they never mentioned this and said they would sort it out. I got a text message saying "internet and picture messaging should be set up within the next 24 hours".... Now whilst I still cannot send picture messages via MMS, I can, all of a sudden I can:- a) set up an 02 email account - send pictures via email to my pc and vice versa b) access the Facebook App and upload pictures to facebook C) Go online, without activating my home Wi-fi All the time this doesn't appear to be charging me....?? My phone has GPRS now in the display and I have wi-fi turned off - I checked my tariff via a "Balance Request" text to 02 and they confirm I have all my unlimited texts still... So how can this be happening and not charging me? My balance on PAYG isn't going down and I have not agreed to any changes in tariff on PAYG. Any one have any ideas? |

The best thing to do would be to call customer service on 4445 from your phone and see what's going on.

However, just driven up the road, well away from my router, and he is wrong - it still works on the internet! As I say, my PAYG balance hasn't altered and oddly, it didn't even charge me for making the 25p call to PAYG customer services? Do I have the ultimate magic phone? |

I just did this and the guy I spoke to said that I couldn't possibly be connecting with anything other than my home router over wi-fi. He confirmed there was no change of tariff or any connection charges associated with my payg phone..

Everything is free - even calls!!!!!! As I said to the guy "Well, I am gonna make the most of it then"! |
