its pretty basic stuff , though no fault of LG

Its only really now that everything talks to each other

If only TVs would play MKV and divxplus files !

what I did like was a web browser ! It would be pretty cool to check your emails as well !

Of course Flash players etc have to be supported for web pages via TV

Why not get a 32 inch widescreen monitor and hook your pc to it.

I have a Samsung series 5 lcd TV that plays MKV and DivX straight off a usb stick. Just plug the usb stick in and press media play on the TV remote.

Nope. I was only pointing out that there are TV's that play MKV etc out the box. But you could connect a 1 or 2tb media harddrive to the tv and stream straight of it.

I'm sure a ethernet connected TV will be able to stream via you home network though.

I think the best idea there is the remote control that's more like a wavable mouse, so you can easily click on on-screen buttons, rather than faffing about with a remote with a myriad of keys.
(mind you, I suppose Wii thought of it first? )

I know about USB ports doing this. As more TVs have ethernet to connect to internet and NAS hard drives ; its important to know what they do play

my G 20 Panny will play Divx but not Divxplus . However this years model G 30 will play them.
