I'm thinking of getting some, anyone know of the cheapest?

My phone was bought for £179.99.

Thanks

I don't have it separately, as my bank account has mobile insurance as one of its "benefits".

Oh really, which bank you with?

NatWest. It's an "Advantage Gold" account. Costs £12.95 per month, but I get mobile phone insurance (with accidental damage & water damage IIRC), travel insurance, and other stuff.

Other banks do similar things.

Can be a rip-off, can be good value... Depends on if you use enough of the "extras".

Have you looked at what your network offers? I just used O2's insurance thing before I changed bank accounts.

Have a look at this:

Not too up to date, but could be useful.

We upgraded out LloydsTSB a/c to a £10/month account to include insurance for phones. Has payed for itself as my wife dropped her phone in the snow in december and lost it. Got a replacement without any problems. I've also needed the AA cover included.

Protectyourbubble is still the cheapest, but badly reviewed. I would be covered for theft, loss, damage, water, everything for £3.99 a month. Everyone else wants £5.99

Home contents insurance covers some items outside the home. Worth checking to see if your phone is already covered.

It's not. Not covered for contents outside the home. My excess is £75 with them aswell.

To be honest for a handset valued at £179.99 i wouldn't bother, six months down the line you could just buy a replacement from ebay for half that!

But if it gets stolen or damaged now, or in the next 6 months, I'll have to buy a new one.

I've never insured a phone and I've had dozens of smartphones over the last few years.
