I have a Desire HD which I rooted, a very simple process. I also had a Desire. Rooting it this was even easier. I dont own a tablet, so cant say how difficult rooting one is. I cant see it being that difficult to be honest.
For its price its a very good piece of kit. Would I buy one, probably not. I would rather spend a bit more money and get a decent one.”
Nope, no Android Market or normal Google apps unless you root it or install a custom ROM. Apparently it doesn't meet Google's requirements due to the lack of a Home button and 3G.
It's mentioned in the reviews I linked to, and also this thread here at DS:

As I said though, it's good for the price.
Rooting or installing a custom ROM doesn't sound too difficult to me either, but it's not something the average user is likely to know about or be comfortable with, which is a shame as it seems the stock version of the Vega is a bit limited.
Like you, I'd rather pay more though for a better quality tablet. In my case, that'll be the iPad 2, but if I had an Android phone, and/or it was cheaper, I'd give the Xoom serious consideration.

Going with that resolution is the easiest option as it's a straight doubling in each direction of the original 1024 × 768 resolution, making it simpler for anything aimed at the old resolution to be scaled up.
