but i have to ask myself will he stop much longer in ed? he has always been praised for his acting abilities!! how much longer do we think he will want to play a gay mechanic in ed?

i suppose a lot will depend on what his agents or danny himself wants but this win may not be good news for aaron fans in the long run???

I suppose you have to remember - all Danny's awards have been viewer voted ones, and while that shows he has a strong fanbase, having an industry award or two would look better on his CV

James Sutton has a huge fanbase - but he's hardly set the world alight since he left HO.

I think leaving now would be a mistake - he's gotten himself a bit typecast with this current storyline - but, tbh, I'm not sure where else they can go with his character now, they've almost burnt the character out.
However, at the end of the day, it'll be his choice and I'll say good luck to him if he moves on.

Andrew Lancel who appears in Corrie has tweeted that the Gavin Blyth tribute and Danny winning Best Actor were two of the highlights of the Awards show for him.

BIG congrats to Danny on winning Best Actor last night!! He was the only choice, but being honest, I thought Shane Ritchie would win - not because I think he's a better actor, purely because of all the Kat & Alfie hype, so was really pleased Danny won & tweeted him once or twice.... may be more as I'd had a bit to drink.....

Was so pleased for him after reading on twitter he'd lost out to Scott Maslen in the Sexiest Male category! What the hell WAS all that about? I was disgusted and could have thrown my phone when the result came through! lol

Looking forward to catching up on all the photos from last night a bit later on, and to watching it all on Wed! What a gorgeous night it'll be!

yes sheepie, i am of the same opinion, i cant see where they could take the character now? they have done so much to him in the last 15 months what else could they put him through? one sure thing it will never be a happy tale!!!

IMO, being gay and struggling to come to terms with it isn't the be all and end all of Aaron.

I know we've had tears etc. for the last 15 months, and some of the stuff thery have put him through is unbelieveable!

I think, he could potentially have a storyline come up that is not about his sexuality.

Danny is one of ED's star performers at the minute, they'd be silly to let him go just because his self-loathing has came to an end, besides, Danny has said many times he is perfectly happy at Emmerdale and will stay for as long as possible.

There's plenty more stuff tjhat i think they could do with Aaron. Maybe, when Jackson has gone, he'll go back to the way he used to be

Fantastic News for Danny Miller - I'm really delighted for him. Looking forward to Wednesday night, sure I'll shed a tear at the mention of Gavin Blyth.

What next for Danny Miller after this terrible s/l? Who knows? He's admitted himself that he's been schooled as an actor by the likes of Gavin Blyth, but also by Dominic (Paddy) and now Pauline Quirke... he's learned a lot and may not want to move on quite yet. However, who knows what he's been offered? And how much of a risk taker does he want to be - he'll know how tough it is out there as he has peers who've been in soaps that are not working now. We'll find out in good time! I truly wish him well, he's a great talent (though I've no understanding as to why anyone would find him sexy... whereas Jackson

hi mel, i know in the past we have disagreed on a few points, and yes future storylines dont have to be about his sexuality but the thing danny does best is emotion and i cant see that if he goes back to bad boy stuff with cain where we would get much of that? the only other way would be illness or death of someone close to him!! do we need more misery again? i cant see happy stuff either cause that wont make good telly!!! i said this a few months back that ed seemed to be squeezing so much in to a short space of time as if they knew he wasnt going to be there much longer but thats only my opinion!!

Danny's not aone-0trick pony though, and we only think he's good at emotion cause thats all we've seen from him. I'm sure he'd do well with other stuff too..


I see theres yet another hate thread for Danny, still peole dredging up what he said on Twitter about not winning the mental health charity award....I stand by the fact that he was wrong to say what he did, and was quite shocked he'd said it, but seriously, are the bitter fans gonna dredge this up everytime the poor lad is nominated for an award? I think he got drunk, got a bit lairy, and claimed the EE win was fixed...

He apologised the next day and said his phone was stolen and twitter got hacked....but apparently an EE fan said Kirsty confirmed he'd said it.


I seem to remember poor Kym Marsh being BULLIED off twitter, because she said she didn't like Waterloo Road.

Hopefully Danny will extend his contract in September and as I'm confident he will continue to get high profile storylines, I think he'll hang around for a while longer. IMO, if anything, his win last night might encourage him to stay because he has got the BSA recognition he wanted, both for himself and ED. IMO, I think if he had been 'snubbed' again, there might have been more chance of him moving on in the hope of trying pastures new.

At the end of the day, he is still a young lad at the start of his career so there will come a time when he and ED part company... and rightly so. At the moment, I imagine he has a very strong group of people around him, both as friends and mentors, so hopefully they will help keep his feet on the ground and make him review all his options thoroughly before coming to any decision.


I've been having a good mozey around online today and it has been lovely to see high praise for Danny from a number of different sources. LOTS of people, with the exception of the DS main board posters, are delighted for Danny and have lots of very positive things to say about him.

I definitely agree with that. I doubt Aaron will go anywhere near another man for a long, long time, if ever, and I believe that Danny might even be able to see his time out in ED without ever having to be in another relationship again - well a visible relationship I mean! I think there is chance he will go off the rails, frequent Bar West regularly and meet lots of different guys in his need to blank out and forget about Jackson, etc. However, if this happens, I think we'll hear about his 'conquests' and not actually see any evidence of them.

I also think Aaron's next storylines on ED will revolve more around the Aaron of olden days. At the end of the day, he's had a LOT to put up with this past year and I think it will be completely understandable for him to go totally off the rails and beat himself up by doing lots of dodgy stuff, etc. What that stuff will be, time will tell! I'm intrigued to find out what they have planned for him next but somehow I doubt it is going to be happy ever after! IMO, Aaron is destined to be miserable for quite a time to come.

Danny does seem to divide opinion and the main forum is very negative about him. While I accept that he has brought some of the negativity on himself, hopefully he is learning from his mistakes and will be more careful about what he says in future. I think he's doing the right thing keeping away from twitter - if you have a tendency to speak before you think then public forums are probably not the best place to air your views! The same thing could be said for non-celebs as well.

For every negative comment he gets, there are plenty from people who appreciate what he does and who think he is a top bloke. The cast and crew at ED, along with numerous other high profile people, think he's a great guy and that is good enough for me. As I don't know him personally, I like to base my overall opinion of him on the evidence of comments from the people who actually know him well. That doesn't mean that I'm oblivious to his faults and see him through rose tainted glasses. I don't. It means that I am prepared to 'forgive' the odd misdemeanor and hopefully he will continue to grow and mature as a person.

Well done DS for deleting the hate thread. Mind you, you don't have to look far for negative comments as the BSA threads are full of them.

Anything's possible so no doubt any or all of the above might happen.

Many of the actors who work on Emmerdale are full of praise for Danny and I have noticed many who work on Corrie feel the same way. I notice that there have been accusations of fans multi-voting for him too much in order to get him to win but this is the case for everyone's own favorite soap or actor. Singling out Danny is extremely petty. I have also noticed that he doesnt post so much on Twitter and only gave a few reminders encouraging fans to vote for him and Emmerdale so any accusations of continually begging for votes are also unfounded.
Really looking forward to watching the show this year and I will be making every effort to ignore the BSA thread on here with the inevitable negative comments.
