importing to itunes

I recently got an ipod and am new to itunes (previously had a creative zen) and am hoping someone can put me right on this problem. I've been importing (ripping) my CDs to itunes. Most then show correctly in the library as an album with the all tracks inside. However, without altering any settings, some CDs insist on importing as multiple versions, each with the same name but with only one or a few tracks in each. In the library there might be ten albums with the same name but with only one track in each, or there might be fewer versions with a few tracks in each. I can't see why it does this for some and not others or how to stop it. Can anyone give me the solution please?

in itunes

VIEW then VIEW OPTIONS , then make sure its only Album, Album Artist, Artist and KIND only

this will allow you to see straight away yhat they are MP 3 etc

in middle window , under ALBUM ; click on Album name you are looking for , THEN when its highlighted blue click on ALBUM .

hey presto the album is all together

Thanks Niall. I couldn't understand why some CDs were appearing properly in the library whilst others were all split up. I'm sure there is a logic to it!
