I have a Samsung LE32C450 tv set and wondered when my area is digital after the switchover, if it will be able to recieve Freeview HD with it being a HD ready TV or will I need a set top box?

Its internal tuner is not a Freeview HD one so yes you will need and external STB or PVR to feed its screen which is capable of display a HD picture (more or less depending how much you want to quibble about its native screen resolution being classed HD Ready).

Not by itself it won't. It does not have the necessary tuner to receive Freeview HD broadcasts. So the only way you will be able to receive and watch Freeview HD is by plugging in a separate box.

It can only receive the SD digital channels by itself using it's built in tuner. So you won't really notice any change after switchover if you are already watching digital telly on it.

By the way HD Ready or Full HD has no bearing on what digital channels, if any, the TV is able to receive.
