Really disappointed at the result, I'm not really suprised but I didn't think she was in anyway the worst last night, I would have personally had Stefano, Haley and either Scotty/Lauren bottom 3 with Stefano to go.

Not surprised nor disappointed with the result. A little surprised Haley was in the bottom two, thought she gave a great performance. Glad to see Naima getting through safely, loved her performance, stole the show for me.

I'm surprised Haley was in the bottom three as I thought she performed really well. I like Stefano so was happy he made it. I thought he wouldn't. I wanted Karen to go. I want to like her but I just find her boring.

I was not surprised about Ashthon and Karen but I didn't understand Haley being there. She's one of my favourites

Personally, I don't understand why they gave Ashthon the wild card in the first place. I thought Lauren Turner and Kendra were both better than Ashthon. I haven't liked a single one of her performances all the way through the auditions

Not really bothered about the result, in such a strong group she was a little bit of a filler contestant.
I'm sure there'll be far worse eliminatons to come.

It was odd how they named the bottom 3 so soon, it was very poorly done and everyone else on the couches didn't have a clue what was happening. If that was the producers attempt to allow them to celebrate getting through, well epic fail to that. It fell totally flat. And quit asking the contestants questions, Ryan, we never get a response that makes any sense and sometimes you end up reducing them to tears you big meanie.
I prefer the UK's elimination process, like a firing squad, just name those who are through one after the other - bam bam bam, leaving those in danger standing.

You know me so well.
Sometimes my friend comes over and I get totally distracted.

You're damn right he will be.

I agree, or at least when they just get on with naming the bottom three in one go.

I do feel sorry for the bottom two/three having to sit through performances by guests while they await their fate.

By the way. At the risk of being lynched around here, I really didn't like Adam Lambert's song last night. I found the acoustic guitars, in particular, didn't seem to work very well.

Don't get me wrong, I usually like his stuff, but I didn't like this at all...

That's the way of the world, Julian. I far prefer him doing this type of performance that shows his exceptional voice, as do the bigger rock or melodic numbers, than the FYE/IIHY/Fever type of stuff that he's wasted on.

As for the guitars, I didn't really notice. They could have been playing washboards and spoons.

Judging by the rise in his album sales over the past couple of days in countries where the show has been broadcast, I dare say more than a few people liked it.

Just caught up with AI today (I record it to fast forward the adverts!).

Yes, right result. Ashthon was the worst one - she was very off key. I was never keen on her in the first place. She was too over-confident and did not have the talent to back it up. She did not have a distinctive enough voice, there are loads of girls that sound like that. Also, why were they implying that the Diana Ross song was not well known. Yes it is!

The next worst for me was Paul - he was practically whispering at the start of his song. He reminds me of Kenny Loggins (looks-wise) with his beard and teeth. I also thought Niama was poor as well - very out of tune.

Best was Pia - really strong voice. I also like Jacob, but he did lose the melody half way through.

I agree with that too.

It just drags out too much. Like when Ryan says what each judge said about someone's performance. It's a bit annoying because at the beginning they go through it that anyway.

I don't really like Paul. People probably think he's quirky but I just don't think he's good. All that dancing around stage is just irritating, makes him look drunk.

I think Pia can sing good, but I find her a bit boring tbh. She sung 'All By Myself' well, but I couldn't help but compare it to Leona Lewis's version and it didn't match up imo.

I would've like to see Ashthon get further. The past three winners could basically all release the same type of music, no variety. I'd like a proper R&B singer to win. Yeah I know we've had Fantasia but I think she either has a tone you like or dislike, and I'm just not fan. Don't like Ruben Studdard and Jordin Sparks is Pop. Hopefully someone a little different wins this year.

I totally agree about Pia. She has a good voice but not a spectacular one and it's very effortful. Though I'm not a Leona fan, I can't take away from her that she does have a spectacular and almost effortless voice and also found myself comparing Pia's performance to hers.

I don't think David Cook is in any way like Kris Allen and Lee DeWyze, other than being a white guy with a guitar,
