Have owned the above TV since 7 Jan this year and we have a fault on
it. When you start flicking up and down the digital channels it gets
slower and slower then locks up with no response from remote or front
panel.

We had an Engineer from Sharpserv out and he changed the one and only
motherboard in the hope it would have the latest software to fix the
problem but after a couple of days it starts locking up again. Only
way to restore service is to switch off and on at wall socket.

Anyone else had anything similar with Sharp TVs, its not as if it's
that old?

The latest firmware is 1.04, dated 19/07/2010 - there's no technical bulletins on that model.

It certainly sounds like a software problem, and hopefully an update will come along to cure it?.

In the meantime, if you're not happy, get the set exchanged for a different make/model.

Thanks Nigel. The Engineer said the last software was 2010 so maybe no one has discovered the bug yet. We really like the colour of the 4 pixel display but if there is no sign of a software update will have to consider it. Will get on to SharpServ again.

Nigel can I ask where you got the info about the software version for this model?

Got a link I have googled but nothing turns up. Rang SharpServ today and they have escalated to a Senior Engineer.

Sharp have got back to me and they have found that all BBC broadcasts cause the set to crash, and have new software in testing so hopefully a cure is in sight.

Software update now available on their technical website, would imagine it will also be availble on the consumer website soon.
Will be interesting to see if it becomes available as an OTA update.

Thanks for that info but I don't know where the technical site is. They are sending me a USB stick with the new software.

Found it or at least a Sharp.info site. Download was 30 mb and USB upgrade to V1.10 only took 5 mins and didn't have to retune. Let's hope this fixes the crash problem.
