Sony Blu-ray & Samsung connected TV
Bit of a long-shot this one and perhaps the quick answer is no, but here goes...
I have two Samsung LED TVs, one with a Sony BDS S570 (integrated wifi) plugged into an HDMI slot, plus Ethernet connection from the TV to my router. The other TV has nothing plugged into it aside from the roof aerial and a Samsung wireless dongle. Both TVs are DLNA and support Anynet+. Is there any way I can connect to the Blu-ray player from the second TV wirelessly? When I power up the Blu-ray it automatically switches the source to it on the main TV. The second TV shows an Anynet+ device on the source list, but then just shows a blank screen. I'm also a bit confused about DLNA streaming of video from my PC. I gather it's only compatible with Windows Media files. For example, I'd like to be able to watch TV programmes recorded via Windows Media Centre to my PC on the TV. These files are all showing up on the relevant video menu on both TVs but then I get an error message stating the format can't be viewed; perhaps Windows Media Centre records TV off-air in a different format? All very confusing... |

Vista Media Center records as .dvr-ms files, and 7 Media Center records as .wtv files. I don't think any TV will play those....yet. VLC attempts to play dvr-ms, but even it baulks at wtv. ![]() You'll just have to convert the files to another format on your PC before you watch on your TV. There are loads of free progs for doing that. For instance I use MCE Buddy to convert wtv to mp4 files, so I can play them with VLC player on my Linux box.
