I don't think my early favourite Casey's going to win now; With A Little Help From My Friends was ok but the schtick could get tiresome. Fortunately I have hedged with James, Pia and Scotty. One of those four has to win, surely. Lauren Alaina doesn't have the chops to compete with the others. Of the others, only Naima and Jacob bring something different, but it's inconsistent.

Fwiw, there should have been two Jewish winners of the competition already in Adam Lambert and Elliot Yamin. Didi Benami is the other Jewish warbler.

At the moment, Durbin offers the value at 6-1. He's put in two immaculate weeks. I am coming to the opinion that he's a marketable Adam Lambert. Lambo seemed to go out of his way to alienate the middle of the road American viewer with high camp and high vamp, whereas Durbin is a cross between Adam Lambert and David Cook. The show's producers have already started sorting his crappy dress sense out.

Anyway, I can't believe Elliot Yamin lost out to Taylor the whooper Hicks. This is one of my favourite AI performances:

As for marketable Adam Lambert, a fraction of his talent wouldn't go amiss. From what I've seen of David Cook, James is nowhere near in his league either.

Considering all the evidence I've found recently (as a non-follower of the show in the past) suggests Lambert trounced the winner and the other two signed contestants from that series in sales, as well as last year's winner and runner-up by an even bigger margin, I don't know where you get the impression that he alienated that many people. Not to mention that he's the series' most successful contestant internationally in four years so I don't know where your impression that he's not marketable comes from. Besides, from what he has to say about his next album and judging by the difference in his appearance after the show and now (which is much more akin to his appearance during the show) it would appear that the electro music, image and performances were all at the record company's instigation. The MOR market never seemed to be what they had in mind or what he had in mind whatever direction he or they had taken or does take.

I'm hoping for a Pia win, but I think James, unfortunately Lauren, (who I don't understand how is breezing through the competition) and Scotty could all take the crown.

Are you sure there have only been four Jewish contestants in the finals? That would seem a very low number over 10 years.

James Durbin is nothing like Adam Lambert or David Cook .................... or Chris Daughtry .......................... or Bo Bice .................... and I'd like to know the type of mushrooms that make James seem like he's within a million miles of any of them.

If they have already started sorting his dress sense out, they have some way to go. He looked awful this week. A cross between what dull, staid stylists think someone doing that sort of performance should look like and the Incredible Hulk.
