In lots of offices, people watching while they should be working will have to disconnect when the boss arrives at their desk.
Particularly if they work for ITV and are watching something on the iPlayer!

Are you talking from experience, George?

Did Michael Grade once catch you watching Out of the Blue during your lunch break?

I think Comic Relief will get over 8.5m to 9.5m tomorrow night but may be worng?.
I expect it will be down on previous years due to the hour long Corrie competition, Corrie being somewhat rejuvenated ratings-wise compared to last time, and the extra long run time past 10pm.

8.5-9m sounds about right.

This is called the Live Plus 7 measurement..
Any idea when this information will be made public? (The BBC suggested sometime in the New Year)

Do you have any info you can share with us?

I had a dream about OMG/Peaches Geldof last night, in it her ratings went up 753%, I'm guessing this won't be a predictive dream.

In other news I need better dreams.

I guess though ITV have the facts and figures for this and weighing up the costs and benefits they must believe the market for ads after Corrie outweighs the need for an accelerated flow into the next show.

I'm guessing it's the BBC more than Comic Relief who felt the need for EastEnders to interrupt it - and I'm wondering if the extra half hour at 10pm is some kind of compensation for it.
Yep, exactly the same slot as last year for it. Exactly the same wasted opportunity.

I'd guess that's going to fill a slot once BGT is out of the way. I wonder if Myleene Klass will present - isn't she pregnant?

Cheap they may be, but C4 need to learn these cheap observational documentaries aren't the solution to filling the void left behind by Big Brother. Isn't this like the 5th or 6th failure since September?

Remember though by rights the UK version should probably have been axed after the first series too - but ITV stuck with it (or were stuck with it!) and ultimately it paid off. Now, I'm not expecting that type of growth in Australia but think it was solid enough to justify another shot.

It's all well and good saying Seven should put the cash into drama instead, but frankly they've got that covered and if TXF had been axed, it would likely have been another entertainment format which replaced it - and that's a bigger risk than recommissioning a show which at least has a base to develop from.

Will be interesting to see how that does considering her original documentary performed rather well.
It's only 10 mins long and it was Comic Relief that asked EastEnders todo a storyline like this.

The whole idea is to raise awareness and they feel that showing it on EastEnders would make people listen more then the trailers they actually show on Comic Relief.

The whole storyline with Whitney over the past few months have been for Comic relief and the climax was always going to air on CR Night

Indeed, same as how, last time round, Richard Curtis co-wrote that episode of Casualty - although that wasn't shown on Red Nose Day. Given it's ten minutes it's no different to all the other sketches they show on the night.

BBC1 seemed to get a boost from ITV1's weaker football competition, yet I'm still surprised Waterloo hit the 5m mark-it seems the change into a drama parody seems to have worked

Ch4 seem to be going back into low teritory again after a positive start to the year-all the 10pm shows have now turned to flops (The Event, Lily Allen, Model Agency, 10 O'Clock Live, Friday Night Dinner) and Jamie looks very low there, possibly being dented by Masterchef.

Another strong 2m for NCIS and the Cowboy Builders repeats continue to do well.

Re moving the BBC News to 10.30 tomorrow it's apparently because donations dropped off at 10 pm as soon as the News came on. Comic Relief have persuaded Mark Thompson to move it in the hope donations will continue to flow until 10.30. As a consequence Newsnight has had to be moved as well - quite an upheaval for BBC scheduling.
And The Review Show dropped for a week

But if it's to raise more money for a good cause then at least there is a good reason for it

re: L&O UK couldn't they update the show very slightly to include some more season-arching threads to keep viewers interested week-to-week. Keeping it so self-contained is a dangerous thing with changeable competition on the other side. It's symptomatic of most dramas of that ilk i.e. The Accused.

Noticed Home and Away got 486K at I:15pm Wednesday on Channel 5. Seams quite good for the time of day, especially when you look what it has been getting in that slot since it was moved.

US clocks changed last weekend so 8pm ratings (that's 7pm for a third of the country) are generally down a bit from last week.

Tuesday Broadcast & Cable Finals:
1. Glee (FOX) - 11.15m (4.2)
2. The Biggest Loser (NBC) - 8.00m (2.7)
3. Teen Mom (MTV) - 4.52m (2.5)
4. Raising Hope (FOX) - 5.74m (2.2)
5. V (ABC) - 5.51m (1.9)
6. Roast of Donald Trump (COMC) - 3.48m (1.9)
7. Tosh.O (COMC) - 3.33m (1.9)
8. The Game (BET) - 3.62m (1.7)
9. Traffic Light (FOX) - 3.60m (1.5)
10. Only In America (HIST) - 2.67m (1.0)

Teen Mom topped Glee among women 18-34 and was the #1 show of the night in that demographic. FOX's Traffic Light was beaten among adults 18-49 by 4 cable shows.

Wednesday Broadcast Fast Overnights:
1. American Idol (FOX) - 22.18m (7.4)
2. Criminal Minds (CBS) - 13.70m (3.6)
3. Survivor (CBS) - 10.56m
4. Criminal Minds: Suspect Behaviour (CBS) - 10.35m (2.6)
5. Mr Sunshine (ABC) - 4.59m (1.8)
6. Off The Map (ABC) - 4.23m (1.4)
7. Minute To Win It (NBC) - 3.25m (0.9)
8. America's Next Top Model (CW) - 2.01m (0.8)
9. Shedding For The Wedding (CW) - 1.03m (0.4)

America's Top Model was down 27% from last week and 53% from the same night last year. Next week, The CW will move it to 9pm, switching with their latest unscripted flop Shedding For The Wedding. CMSB recovered to decent ratings last night as well but ABC's midseason shows are bombing badly.

American Idol was down 9% from the same calendar week last year and down 11% from the second of last seasons top 12 shows.

How has the Cricket World Cup been doing for Sky - especially as England seem to have found themselves involved in the most entertaining games of the tournament so far.

Looks like a typo to me by DS. The share is too low for the rating to be that high.

I thought that was a good number for something not very mainstream that didn't finish till 2.20am, and on a weekday.

It's the number 1 breakfast show on commercial TV, has improved in key demos and as far as I can remember GMTV was never far removed from 0.7-0.9m for most of last year.

Daybreak also costs less than GMTV did to make (£30m to £31m) and ITV now gets 100% of the profits now Disney is gone.

So, it probably is an improvement on GMTV. And Daybreak did turn a corner in that it the audience didn't keep diving and has risen slightly over the past few months.

Good to see Waterloo Road hitting the 5m mark again it hasn't been there for the whole of this series so far if my memory serves me correctly. Although the series is far past its best I still find it an entertaining watch

Poor for the football and I can't help but feel that Masterchef has been pretty underwhelming in ratings terms-ok so its solid and doesn't appear to be dipping but it hasn't taken off in the same way that The Apprentice did when that was moved to BBC1 and it seems that it never will...

I'm pretty sure Daybreak's rating worse in the key Housewives with Children demo than what GMTV was doing in its dying days. And GMTV's average was generally higher too.

Yeah, good rating for Waterloo Road. I can't remember it hitting 5.0m+ for at least a year so it performed well last night. Was it a big episode for WR last night? Because although the football was pretty low, the FA Cup match rated a million lower a couple of weeks ago and on that night WR didn't hit 5m, so last night's performance was pretty strong for it.

Yes it was the end of the main storyline arc of the series so I guess that's what pushed the ratings up a bit!

Last three England matches:

Wed 2/3- 08:30-17:30: England v Ireland: 345k
Sun 6/3- 03:30-12:00: England v South Africa: 274k
Fri 11/3 - 08:00-17:30: England v Bangladesh: 380k

Ah right, thanks, that makes sense.

That's unless Penn and Teller airs on Fridays, but if that's on in Q2 then it may well take over from BGT on Saturdays in June (hopefully not though). I doubt it'll be ready in time to air after BGT on Saturdays (I haven't heard anything about filming starting).
Filming for Penn & Teller takes place in May so it could well be ready for a June transmission.

Apart from Sky News, its the only one

.
Have you a source for that? Becuase Broadcast has done reports every few months which says the exact opposite, down in the key demos and in viewers and thats in comparison to the dying days of GMTV.

Daybreak also costs less than GMTV did to make (£30m to £31m) and ITV now gets 100% of the profits now Disney is gone.

.
The figure for Daybreak includes 8 months of GMTV. The budget would have fallen either way with the franchise coming under full ITV control, backroom services duplication was and is being eliminated.
[Worth noting the budget figure also doesn't include the marketing costs and the one off items releated to Daybreak.]

If it was doing so well why did Adam Crozier last week admit it had underperformed for ITV?
