I'm not sure if people here knew this already but Phillip Schofield confirmed on Twitter this morning that The Cube is back on Sunday April 3rd.

Comic Relief Does Glee Club in a 5.15pm slot this week for younger viewers. It has so far drawn a slot average of 938,000 (6.15%)
Pretty good for a CBBC show in modern times.Source: Broadcast |

Of course they are obliged and even with no British teams they'll probably perform better than their usual ratings anyway. It's not going to save them any money not showing the games they've paid for!
Re: CBBC does Glee Club - just about beating Don't Stop Believing then, but a bit disappointing to be honest. Re: The Cube - that pretty much confirms then BGT will stick to Saturdays, probably paired with Sing if you Can, which just gets worse the more you here about it. |

Skins entertained 381k (2.2%) on E4 from 10pm and 136k (1.4%) on +1.
When a finale is the 2nd lowest rated episode of all five series, it is time to cancel the show. I love Skins, but S5 has ruined it. |

Monroe held up alright considering the competition collectively was a fair bit tougher than last week. 5m with +1 is solid and it may increase a little next week with slightly easier competition.

Very poor rating for Skins yet again.
Be interesting to see how the movie does at the box office after this. That gives us overnights for series 5 of: E4 ------------------------ E4 +1 823k (4.6%) ------ 113k (1.1%) 573k (3.2%) ------ 138k (1.3%) 534k (3%) --------- 136k (1.3%) 511k (2.8%) ------- 132k (1.3%) 421k (2.2%) ------- 176k (1.7%) 450k (2.6%) ------- 109k (1.2%) 332k (1.9%) ------- 110k (1.2%) 381k (2.2%) ------- 136k (1.4%) And the overnights series averages to date: ------------ E4 -------------------- E4+1 S1: 822k (5.7%) --------------------- S2: 663k (4.3%) ------------- 142k S3: 707k ------------------------ 183k S4: 746k (4.1%) ------------- 179k S5: 503k (2.8%) ------------- 131k |

The Champions League draw has thrown up some big games.
ITV will have the first leg of Chelsea v Manchester United (April 6th) and the second leg of Tottenham v Real Madrid (April 13th). Everything else will be on Sky Sports. |

From DS
Monroe lost more than 1 million viewers on Thursday evening and was outperformed by The Big Red Nose Day Desert Trek, the latest audience data has revealed. The medical drama, starring James Nesbitt as neuroscientist Gabriel Monroe, averaged 4.86m (20%) for ITV1 in the 9pm hour, down 1.04m on last week's debut episode. An extra 173k (1%) tuned in on ITV1 +1. Monroe was also outperformed by The Big Red Nose Day Desert Trek, featuring celebrities such as Dermot O'Leary and Olly Murs attempting to cross Kenya's Kaisut Desert, which delivered 4.94m (20.5%) on BBC One. Earlier, Tonight: Man Vs Mother Nature fetched 3.18m (14%) on ITV1 from 7.30pm and DIY SOS: The Big Build - Chessington built 3.59m (14.8%) on BBC One in the 8pm hour. Question Time brought in 2.67m (22.1%) on BBC One from 10.45pm. Channel 4's Coach Trip mustered 1.65m (10.5%) from 5.30pm and 312k (1.6%) on +1. Later, Relocation, Relocation located 1.55m (6.4%) in the 8pm hour and 231k (1%) on timeshift. Love Thy Neighbour took 820k (3.4%) from 9pm and 107k (0.6%) on +1. 10'Clock Live was seen by 700k (4%). Over at BBC Two, Decade Of Discovery enchanted 1.36m (6.1%) in the 7pm hour, before A Farmer's Life For Me served up 1.26m (5.2%) from 8pm. The British At Work mustered 1.33m (5.5%) in the 9pm hour and ICC Cricket World Cup Highlights had 1.44m (6.6%) from 10pm. Live coverage of Liverpool's goalless UEFA Europa League draw with Braga pulled in 2.91m (12.3%) on Channel 5 between 7.30pm and 10.15pm. Overall, ITV1 narrowly won primetime with 21.8% (+1: 0.5%) against BBC One's 21.4%. Channel 5 came in third with 9.6%, ahead of BBC Two with 5.6% and Channel 4 with 4.4% (+1: 0.7%). Elsewhere, Celebrity Juice amused 1.13m (5.9%) on ITV2 from 10pm, the biggest multichannel audience of the night. A further 195k (1.9%) watched the show on timeshift. Skins entertained 381k (2.2%) on E4 from 10pm and 136k (1.4%) on +1. BARB ratings data supplied by Attentional Not much to really shout about again and TV seems to have been really poor this week. |

Solid but unspectacular rating for Desert Trek - I did not expect it to win its slot (just), but I had expected something like 4.5-5m. It did have a poor lead in of 3.6m from DIY SOS which should have done better. The Kilimanjaro doc 2 years ago did, of course, air at 8pm and have an EE lead in with no EmFm/Corrie at that time at 8pm.
Surprising drop for Monroe, given the Corrie lead-in and ITV's recent strength in that slot, but then it didn't really engage me - it's like Holby City with Jimmy Nesbitt in it. |

I find that really surprising given all the good press it has had and it may recover with timeshift. I watched 5 minutes but I find James Nesbitt unwatchable in most things. |

Tough competition in the 9pm slot last night. Monroe held up well I thought and should increase with much weaker competition next week. The Comic Relief special would probably have been 6m+ if it had aired on another night.
Very low for the ITV soaps though and they were hit hard by the football. The first Emmerdale and EE should be higher I would have thought. Another really poor night for CH4 and I can see Love Thy Neighbour being pulled soon, because that's an awful primetime share. Ouch for the Skins finale and the series breakdown is alarming! |

Given the very poor Corrie lead-in, Monroe actually did OK.

Had a Tweet from Danielle Nagler, head of BBC HD. Quote:
beware overnights: bbc hd has more consolidation than any channel except sky atlantic. and no freeview hd in panel
That begs the question, why hasn't the panel been updated? Freeview HD launched over a year ago!!!

Monroe held up well considering the tough compeitition. I expected more for the Comic Relief doc, didn't the one last time get an unexpectedly high figure.
Regarding 5pm, is The Chase still wining the slot, even though they are now repeats? |

That's an okay rating for Monroe if it can hold steady or maybe even increase in the next few weeks. Marchlands and Kidnap & Ransom fell 0.8m and 1.0m for their second episodes. Bearing in mind that both those shows went up against the same competition for their second episodes as their first episodes, whilst Monroe faced ~3.5m more viewers from BBC1 and C5, that's an acceptable drop. But it can't drop like that again next week. Poor for the 8pm soap hour which was dented by the C5 football match. Now that all the British clubs are out, I'm guessing C5 won't show the remaining few rounds (apart from the final) on their main channel as they would get pretty poor ratings. ITV have struck lucky with the Champions League draw as they're guaranteed English presence in the semi final as well as the big quarter final matches - a complete contrast to last season of course. The Comic Relief doc did decently - the tough competition from ITV1 and C5, as well as the poor lead-in, probably held it back from a possible ~6m it could've got in another slot. Quote:
