Would the contrat even allow them to air the football on 5★ ? and its not exactly a good fit for the channel working hard to define its new brand.

That gives us overnights for series 5 of:

E4 ------------------------ E4 +1
823k (4.6%) ------ 113k (1.1%)
573k (3.2%) ------ 138k (1.3%)
534k (3%) --------- 136k (1.3%)
511k (2.8%) ------- 132k (1.3%)
421k (2.2%) ------- 176k (1.7%)
450k (2.6%) ------- 109k (1.2%)
332k (1.9%) ------- 110k (1.2%)
381k (2.2%) ------- 136k (1.4%)

And the overnights series averages to date:

------------ E4 -------------------- E4+1
S1: 822k (5.7%) ---------------------
S2: 663k (4.3%) ------------- 142k
S3: 707k ------------------------ 183k
S4: 746k (4.1%) ------------- 179k
S5: 503k (2.8%) ------------- 131k”

Not sure whether it was the first episode or Celebrity Juice who killed it, but sad to see it drop so much. I've always felt too the film was a mistake considering both series 2 and 4 had cliffhangers which were best left unresolved - there is no advantage to anyone in finding out whether Sid and Cassie lived happily ever after and whether Cook, well, lived. Or killed.
Has it even been filmed - I know it was talked about but I've never heard anything about it being filmed, unlike The Inbetweeners which has been in the press throughout it's filming.

I doubt though E4 will axe it just yet - they'll see how series 6 performs first before making a final decision.

Chris Moyles this morning said that the red button figures have been amazing when doing the radio show marathon so does anyone know what these figures are??

poor quality update from Digiguide tonight, mistakes on both C5 and BBC, also no sign of Have I Got News For You, which I thought was returning that week.

It will be interesting to see if it rates well (for the slot) for a few years (the way Weakest Link did), or if it crumbles quickly (the way Golden Balls did).

Merlin is back to 13 episodes for its new series after the BBC changed their minds about cutting the episode order to 10 eps: http://www.sfx.co.uk/2011/03/18/merl...l-13-episodes/

Article hints at autumn transmission too, so maybe the second half of the Doctor Who series will go on Sunday nights?

Interesting it may stretch into new year.

Is it just my EPG or are both BBC News at Ten and Newsnight back to their usual slots due to Libya?

Mine has BBC News at 10pm, too.

Yes the News and Newsnight are on at their normal times, I looked on my Freeview EPG and Comic Relief on BBC1 is now from 7:00pm - 10:00pm and it continues from 10:00pm - 10:35pm on BBC2, and then it goes back to BBC1 at 10:35pm.

Thanks
Wise move imo.

The soaps did very poorly - ITV are making siuch a mess of everything they probably deserve it. Monroe didn't do too badly I suppose but it's not going to be the British answer to House that I think ITV were looking for. The Desert Trek did well.

The movie hasn't been made yet, it keeps getting delayed. They just keep saying it's 50/50. I don't think there's anyway S6 could recover ratings enough for E4 to commission a Gen 4.

In the opening week of Five USA in 2006, they had a Newcastle Uefa Cup match in the schedule (back when matches were on whichever channel fancied buying the individual games), presumably to prop it up a bit and get a million or so people finding it. But in the end they just stuck it on Channel Five instead, maybe they thought it was too confusing to have non-USA stuff on Five USA.

"Fern" launches on C4 on March 28th - sounds like it'll be more than just a rebranded Paul O'Grady show and it's made by the Richard and Judy producers rather than Olga TV.

Quote:
“5:00pm FERN
One of the UK's best loved TV personalities makes a welcome return as Fern Britton launches her brand new tea-time chat show. The hour-long weekday show features a mix of real people's true stories, celebrities and entertainment. Members of the live studio audience share their amazing experiences, with Fern on hand to offer anything from expert advice, a shoulder to cry on, a treat, a revelation, or some tough love. And Fern also interviews a wide range of celebrity guests. Exec Prod: Amanda Ross; Series Editor: Chris Worthington; Prod Co: Cactus”

Also that week Kirsty and Phil return on Wednesday with Vacation, Vacation, Vacation. Nothing too innovative there - one location, two holidays, one budget, one luxury. The first prime time holiday show in some time though.

After watching the first 100 minutes of Comic Relief I think ITV1 should've stuck to their usual schedule - it might have performed well for a change. The show's been missing something tonight; there's been a lack of studio acts and they've shown Doctor Who and Outnumbered very early on.

I very much doubt it, the quality of the show never seems to matter.

Have to agree - nearly three hours in and it is far too VT heavy - most the classic moments of Comic Relief I remember happened live. So far all we've had is two regular music performances in the studio - and frankly getting tired of the Peter Kay videos now. Worth noting though C4 are repeating Britain's Got The Pop Factor and Possibly a new Jesus Christ Superstar Strictly on Ice next Saturday - no coincidence I'm sure.

Back to ratings, kind of, and an interesting list about America's top money earners for 2010 - arguably more important than the actual ratings nowadays. No surprise Idol still is on top, but interesting Desperate Housewives still comes in at number 3 despite falling ratings, whilst Glee is just outside of the top ten. Losing Two and a Half Men will be a big financial hit to CBS - but Chuck Lorre does provide three of the top ten.

1. American Idol (Fox) $7.1 million
2. Two and a Half Men (CBS) $2.89 million
3. Desperate Housewives (ABC) $2.74 million
4. Grey’s Anatomy (ABC) $2.67 million
5. Dancing With the Stars (ABC) $2.67 million
6. Lost (ABC) $2.60 million
7. The Big Bang Theory (CBS) $2.50 million
8. 24 (Fox) $2.45 million
9. Private Practice (ABC) $2.32 million
10. Mike & Molly (CBS) $2.11 million

These will be Celebrity Relief's lowest ratings ever, I confidently predict.

It's the worst show ever so far, and I have sat through all of them.

ITV should have had the confidence to put out something stronger. They will have dominated viewing to 8.30 with the EmFm/hour long Corrie combo anyway (I notice it ran right up to 8.30pm not 8.25 as I expected), and since then the last 90 mins has been dire - a miserable and out of place EE episode, and the charity films outnumbering the "comedy" by about 3 to 1. Since half eight, we've had a moderately amusing Peter Kay video and, er, that's about it - and this was the chance to appeal to 10m+ viewers.

Assuming there is actually some good stuff to come, why put it out when people have switched off and/or gone to bed?

It's all a bit Children in Need tonight - minus the awful Newsreaders dancing. It just hasn't got the usual live energy - something that the Chris Moyles show had in abundance.

This firewalk is a fine example - would be much better live (and I suspect pre-fakery scandals they'd have made out this was live).

Perhaps they'll air it at 4pm too this year, just to ensure they depress its ratings still further.

Numpties...

i reckon it'll get 2m tops especially with ITV showing 'Die another Day' its only been aired around 100 times over the years.

Damn competitive scheduling
