Good job the BBC didn't try filming Life on Mars at its actual location
![]() There is no real reason, why a show should film in the same place its set. |

17:15- The Weakest Link: 1.64m (12.2%)
This seems to be slowly fading. I'm suprised the memo hasn't gone in to switch it with Pointless. |

I notice that 6 x 60 episodes of DCI Banks and 8 x 60 episodes of Doc Martin start filming this week.
With Downton Abbey in the mix, seems like ITV may be on for some good winter drama ratings. |

I doubt Zohan rated THAT low! It was trending on Twitter and there were thousands of Facebook mentions too!

agreed, something has changed at the Gadget Show, im not sure what it is however.
how could the BBC film Casualty in a fictional city? That said I think they should have both Casualty & Holby City at Cardiff. |

the crossovers are better at the moment, but it seems odd when the two shows are totally seperate of each other

Fern flopped. Ch4 are going to really miss the stability that CDWM brings to that slot over the next 4 weeks.

That would just mean that the audience watching it were the sort of people who regularly use facebook and twitter. It doesn't actually take a large number of people to make something a UK trending topic

Phil Mitchell could become a brain surgeon and Dot Cotton a health consultant.

Perhaps they could have crossovers between Holby and EE as both are made at Elstree

Indeed. Antiques Roadshow got 6 times the audience of Zohan on Sunday but I for one didn't see any tweets or Facebook comments!

I'm seeing how many people are clever enough to realise that without having one in every tv set or digital box, the BARB lot will never know the real ratings of shows......

How many people with lives to live actually watch that trash?
But i suppose going by your 'bullet proof theory' the BARB figures must be wrong? |

Statistical "Sampling" as you call it, is only truly representative of those that are "Sampled", not of the whole country!
remember this is used mainly for advertising purposes and they pay for it. if you want to record every houses viewing (civil liberties issues notwithstanding) you pay for it ![]() and of course you point about representative sampling is nonsense. however if you dont know basic maths its going to be hard to discuss this. |

Just to remind that they DID film Life on Mars where it was set - in south Manchester/Stockport/Hyde.
It was only the US remake that was set on or near to Mars. Mind you Outcasts was set on an alien world and filmed expensively in South Africa, but would have been just as realistic filmed in Scunthorpe. I also wish that Casualty and Holby City would film in one location together as it has been a treat to see Henrick cross over from Holby to Casualty several times lately, as he would in real life, but these occurrences are few and far between given that in fiction they only have to get in a lift and in real life they need to travel 90 miles down the M 4. |
