In all seriousness though, if they do it right then it will surely pull in reasonably good figures for C5. I guess, if they are getting it at a good price, it makes business sense for Desmond aswell in terms of cross promotion with his newspapers etc.

The return of the 24 hour live feed will be hugely popular with fans.

That struck me as a good audience for a repeat, and on a Wednesday too and at 10.45 not 10.35.

I think this is a more popular show than the BBC thinks it is. The last series was great, and given the number of 9pm repeats and fillers on BBC1, I think they need to bring it back into the 9pm hour.

The repeats might have matched up well with HIGNFY, better than the umpteenth QI reshowings we're getting - for a show that has already been booted off to BBC2.

As panel shows go, I think its probably the best one out there at the moment. It was a bit dodgy for a couple of series but really clicked when they put in Rob Brydon in as host, with David Mitchell and Lee Mack as team captains. The chemistry works and the show seems to be getting a bit more love - including a British Comedy Award a few months back. I wouldn't at all be surprised to see it back in the 9pm hour for the next new run.

CBS continue with their recent trend of trial scheduling late in the season. They're going to flip an original Mike & Molly and a Two and a Half Men repeat a week on Monday. M&M takes a lead-in from Mad Love - which performs pretty poorly at 8.30pm so it'll be a real test of its ability to anchor an hour.

The 9pm slot is up for grabs next season. Had this all happened 12 months earlier, there's no doubt that The Big Bang Theory would have slid into that slot. But having established a Thursday comedy hour, CBS may be reluctant to move TBBT back.

When Everybody Loves Raymond ended, CBS simply promoted the 9.30pm show (Two and a Half Men) to 9pm and it worked brilliantly. So on paper, Mike & Molly ought to get it. But Mike & Molly, while a solid hit, hasn't been as strong at 9.30pm as Two and a Half Men was.

The other possibility is to use some combination of Mike & Molly and Rules of Engagement at 8pm with How I Met Your Mother moved up to lead 9pm. The latter has been a strong performer for years, matching the numbers for Mike & Molly this season without the lead-in.

My pick is the last option:

Mondays:
8pm - Mike & Molly
8.30pm - Rules of Engagement
9pm - How I Met Your Mother
9.30pm - NEW

Thursdays:
8pm - The Big Bang Theory
8.30pm - NEW

Of course, this all assumes that TAAHM really is dead. And rumours continue that there will be a replacement or even that Sheen could return.

It's also interesting that The Mentalist has a two hour season finale at 9pm, wonder if CBS are again testing whether it should flip slots with CSI given how it's usually the top performing show of the night.

I have a feeling The Mentalist might battle with Grey's Anatomy next season. CSI ratings are drying up and in some occasions, it was beaten by The Office (18-49). Between Private Practice and NBC's 10pm sitcoms, CSI might get benefit at 10pm more. Then again, Private Practice did beat ER's final season, when they went head-to-head in 2008-09 season.

Speaking of detective shows, it will be interesting how Body of Proof will perform this Sunday. The main question though is why on Sunday? Could BoP be the potential replacement for B&S? I still think BoP will benefit on Tuesdays after DWTS, but who knows?

I think the Sunday thing is just to showcase it after Desperate Housewives because of Dana Delaney. Although the usual procedure is just to air an encore of the premiere rather than the second episode which is a bit odd.

It's difficult to predict ABC's scheduling because they could potentially have a lot of changes if Paul Lee decides to make his mark.

My guess is that if B&S gets axed, it'll be something new. Possibly Marc Cherry's pilot or something like Good Christian Bitches rather than a procedural. And if Body of Proof can deliver good ratings for ABC in a 10pm weeknight slot, I doubt they'll want to move it seeing as they've had so much trouble with those slots.

Body of Proof will probably stay on Tuesdays but I imagine CBS will try and combat it by moving NCIS Los Angeles or a new show like Person of Interest to 10pm.

I think with CSI, CBS' pride and that they already moved NY and Miami was the reason why they didn't move the mothership to a different timeslot or day. Can see it happening next season but I dont think it'll be axe, CBS will most likely give it a final season.

How can the BBC be ''broke'' when it has a guaranteed income of £3.5 billion a year from licence payers plus some extras from BBC Worldwide and BBC Publications ?

Reading the artice its bizzare. They want to clear BBC2 to show News 24 and the clear BBC1 afternoons to show BBC2 daytime shows. So why not just put kids shows on BBC2 instead of News 24?

Why do they need news simulcast but not kids tv simulcasting?

All these ideas are ''kites'' flown by Mark Thompson and his mandarins to judge the public reaction.Why did they set up separate channels for children in the first place, BBC2 would have sufficed surely. There are children's programmes on BBC2 in the mornings in any case.Personally I favour the BBC News channel plan but it would seem there would be a large amount of duplication particularly post-DSO.What we are looking for is good housekeeping by the BBC, not illogical cuts here and there. And what's happened to all those management cuts Mark Thompson promised us ?

BBC2 is really just an overflow channel. Probably they dont want protests when kids shows are taken off BBC2 for sports events. They figure nobody will complain if the news is taken off BBC2

Post DSO everyone will be able to receive the News channel so if they are running it 12 hours a day on BBC2 I can see licence payers beginning to ask Why ?
