SPOILER: Theme spoiler and my song suggestions

Wrote Spoiler twice as I can't quite fathom Spoiler tags lol!

Spoiler!

It's Birth Year songs this week, I like this theme.

Here are a few ideas

James (1989) Another Day In Paradise - Phil Collins
Stefano (1989) Right Here Waiting - Richard Marx
Karen (1989) Like a Prayer (Madonna)
Pia (1988) Waiting for a Star to Fall (Boy Meets Girl)
Haley (1991) The Shoop Shoop Song - Cher
Casey (1991) It Ain't Over 'Til It's Over - Lenny Kravitz (? Not sure lol)
Lauren (1994) Stay (I Missed You) - Lisa Loeb
Jacob (1987) Knew You Were Waiting - George and Aretha
Thia (1995) Waterfalls - TLC
Naima (1986) Jump - The Pointer Sisters
Scotty (1993) Fields of Gold - Sting
Paul (1984) I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues - Elton John

I guess the strangest choice there is Pia's, but I think she could do it. I originally picked it for Karen, then realised I'd muddled the years up so gave it to Pia rather than lumbering her with any samey Whitney

James - Alice Cooper - Poison

Stefano...don't care

Karen - Roxette - Listen To Your Heart

Pia - Cher - I Found Someone

Hayley - The Divinyls - I Touch Myself (or Wicked Game - Chris Isaak, though I would like to hear Scotty sing it).

Jacob - Maybe a solo of Linda Ronstadt & James Ingram - Somewhere Out There

Scotty - (got trains on my mind) -Soul Asylum - Runaway Train or a cheeky cover - Rod Stewart - Have I Told You Lately

Paul - Dan Hartman - I Can Dream About You

Thia - bit of a challenge - Seal - Kiss From A Rose

Aw thanks for the response, some good selections there lol!

I nearly went with Listen To Your Heart for Karen too, it'd be just as good but I picked Madonna so she could be uptempo as she's done a couple of ballads. I also like HITYL for Scotty, wasn't sure if usng a cover should count, but it does, as Danny sang a cover of Stand By Me as his birth year song in Season 8. I like Scotty, and I reckon he'd do an interesting version of Wicked Game.

Don't think Haley should sing it, she'd ruin it after Siobhan's amazing version last year, then again so did Rebecca on last year's XF so who knows? Lol I Touch Myself'd be more entertaining though. I'm hoping Haley or Paul will leave this week, so perhaps I could think of worse picks for them?

Stefano could really nail Don't Care.....classic song, that. Lol

Haley just singing Shoop Shoop (instead of any of the actual words in the song) would be fun as I can never understand anything she sings! I'd miss her though as she is entertaining for different reasons.

I think you can guess who I want to leave this week.

You're right about Karen needing uptempo as she needs to get noticed or she may as well go.

Couldn't think of anything for Casey.

Funny we both picked duets for Jacob.

Lol it would be fun for Haley to sing Shoop Shoop, seemed like the type of song the judges wanted to see from her too. She is entertaining, especially compared to Paul, but I won't miss her that much as I like all the others lol

I could hazard a guess at who you want to leave, couldn't possibly be Stefano as you put so much effort into picking him an inspired song choice for this week!

I actually quite like Stefano for my sins, but Lately wasn't his finest hour. It was partly the arrangement, but also, it sounded like he was trying to imitate Stevie's vocal style, which I don't think he needs to do. I enjoyed his Bruno Mars performance.

I like Karen too, and I love when she sings in Spanish, as I'm learning Spanish, but she does need to make herself stand out beyond that, especially as she has potential to be very good. Funnily enough, there's someone on my Spanish course called Karen Rodriguez

I was a bit stumped by Casey too - I said Pia's was my only slightly strange pick, but had forgotten at the time I wrote that that I barely know Casey's song. I just reckon a Lenny Kravitz song will be more suitable for him than Paula Abdul or Whitney lol

Jacob clearly puts enough into each of his performances for two lol! It is funny how we both picked him duets. I also noticed that in his birth year, a song was released with the name Jacob in the title, but I can't remember what it was or who it was by. Our picks both sounded like better chjoices for his voice
