Ah, another pointless Gadget Show review
![]() I like how they are making it a poll, so the most popular smartphone will win and not actually the one someone would consider is the best in terms of features/build quality etc. You know, the kinda thing that is important when deciding on which one to purchase. Oh and I can tell you the results now before they even say it, the iPhone 4 will win. |

Quite surprised to see the HD7 currently beating the Torch. You'd think people would just vote for whichever platform they're on with their current phone.
Getting approx a third of Nexus S votes and more than a fifth of iPhone 4 votes. Beats my expectation. As to their reviews, they are not serious reviewers. Gadget show is frothy, gadget-lust entertainment for "man in pub". |

no htc desire hd in the review as i would have thought that would have been one of them to review.
pointless anyway as there is the galaxy s 2 out soon and some other phones using dual core processors |

So saw the show last night, but only caught the end of the test when the battery ran out on the Nexus S. I quite fancied that for my next Android phone. Is it short on battery?

They should just get it over and down with and rename "The Gadget Show" to "Apple Bum Loving".
TBH the whole show is sickening from their reviews to the fun way it's filmed. Does us all a favour and die a quick! A small nuclear device on set might help. |

Not seen the gadget show in ages, a load of rubbish. Its true, the Jason fellow is so apple biased you would think Steve Jobs was his father. I see they didnt use the latest android phone...just picked an older model.

Actually, the Nexus S is one of the latest Android phones, came out early Dec if I recall. Not much more has come out since then that is in the same league as far as I'm aware.

I loved the bit when the Nexus S battery ran out, that just summed Android up to a T, sure you can turn things off etc, but use it like its supposed to be used and it just doesn't last the duration

Exactly. I can use my iPhone 4 heavily all day with juice left over at the end of the day. If I used my Nexus One in the same way it would barely make 3pm. It's the price you pay for trying to bodge desktop OS multi-tasking into a mobile device. This is why Apple users are passionate, because Apple do things right when the time is right not just for the sake of doing it.
![]() BTW, apple have incorporate multi-tasking into ios...just very badly. |

Well lets see, HTC Desire, ZTE Blade and more recently Galaxy S, The Desire and Blade lasted a month until I sold them, I did like the Galaxy S and had it hmm 6 months but the GPS buggering about was enough so got rid
if you like trying n testing devices out, i recommend getting hold of a 'pure' android device.

But some of the tests can be frothy. Rather like Top Gear. |

Here we go again...
There must be some proper, independent reviews of smartphone battery life that can be used for direct comparison. |
