Actually I have always found them to be anti-Apple (particularly Jon and Suzi).
I think we must be watching different shows

Not top dog in what sense? It's taking over half the revenue for SmartPhones and topping the reviews.

As for developers, due to the fragmentation on Android it's very hard for them to make money. One developer is making more on Android than Apple, 65,000 are not.
Is that from your extensive experience of developing and marketing apps and your general knowledge of the mechanics of ISVs?

My problems with the test are as follows
1) The "Knockout" routine-who is to say the 'phone knocked out in the first test might not have out-performed on the others? Surely a more useful methid would have been for all four to go through all the tasks?
2) The Blackberry Torch is harder to text on with a physical keypad than on a touch screen? Really? I'm no fan of the Blackberry, but this seems unrealistic:it also ignored the fact that, if you close the keypad, you get a touch keypad on-screen.
3) The HTC HD7 is another example of great hardware crippled by a rubbish OS-Windows mobile sucks and blows simultaneously. HTC have revolutionised the Mobile industry with their Android phones-so why not test the Desire/Desire HD, using an OS that millions have fallen in love with?
4)Yes, I knew the iPhone 4 would win. Yawn.
The GS used to be a useful and enjoyable show, just nowadays seems to be a vehicle to promote how physically fit/attractive the presenters are, and to push the competition (which is where, I suspect the programme makes its money back)
5) Pollyanna. Yes she's cute, but could we have less of her screaming and squealing?

They did, they tested the Nexus S which is an Android phone, in fact it's a 'pure Android' phone as it's not got any additional OEM software on it.

Also from what I've been reading most people are impressed with the new Windows 7 Mobile, it's nothing like the previous versions.

Judging from some of the posts I've seen on here about her, a lot of forums members would like to see and hear more of that sort of thing.

a friend of mine asked me about this yesterday.

HTC HD7 does not run on Windows Mobile. Have you even been anywhere near a WP7 device or tried one?

Another thread turned into an Apple rant, mods, please do us all a favour and lock it.
But we've not had any Apple rants for quite a while and the discussions had been civil and addressing the positives and negatives of various devices. I wonder what the link is

I'm sure I read Apple avoid flash due to it crashing and slowing a device down.
LOL never mind Apple and the iphone. My question was specifically what phones could handle flash based facebook apps. As Apple have chosen for whatever reason not to make flash available no point in even mentioning them. Lets stick with Android phones or maybe Windows phones. So again What phones have the crunch power to handle that?

eeerm i think you'll find it does

The HTC HD7 is everything we'd hoped it would be, thanks to its gorgeous hardware and the simple, swoopy pleasure of Windows Phone 7. But only time will tell whether the bare shelves of the app store will eventually be stacked with treats.

Thanks.

I think Microsoft should fire whichever idiot Redmond executive came up with the name. They must have thought it would get positive association with desktop Windows 7 rather than negative association with Windows Mobile.

They should have called it Zune phone or something.

Microsoft likes/wants everything to be Windows. This may have good or bad connotations to people. Apple comes in for a lot of stick for i, but it identifies the brand without any particular association with software or hardware.

WP7 looks promising, but support from Microsoft for the platform is looking decidedly shaky.

how do you get that 'support from Microsoft for the platform is looking decidedly shaky' from the fact that the update has been delayed? seriously your mind boggles me.

Microsoft only ever committed to a hard date of 14th March. It got delayed ONE WEEK to 23rd March as start of that rollout. This the second update. I've already had the first. Hardly shaky. They've already agreed to pay Nokia $1bn to support the platform, hardly uncommitted.

Yes it is a bit odd considering apple cant fix a problem since the phone came out and its updates are next to zero.

Also Android have delayed updates so if its shaky for MS, my god what must it be like for apple and android in his mind lol

A test to prove which is King of Smartphones but where was the HTC Desire HD, Nokia N8 and Samsung Galaxy S?

Makes the whole test rather redundant to be honest!

Well it was more platforms rather than individual handsets. I guess you could argue that the Nexus S is the best Android in that it has all the features of the others and more in hardware terms. It just lacks Samsung or HTC's skinning.

Nokia N8 - what is the point in even talking about Symbian phones anymore?

Nokia does make some nice SmartPhones, but in a competition for the best Symbian can't cut it. (and I'm a Nokia fan).

Too be honest I stopped watching the Gadget Show a long time ago when it became the Apple Show. Think its time Offcom slapped Channel 5s hands for producing an hour long advert for Ipods and Iphones.

And I get cheesed off because it is so anti-Apple.

Which clearly demonstrates a lack of objectivity on your behalf.

They clearly like Apple products, and to suggest otherwise would hint at you not even watching the show. The bias is not as bad as some people are making out but it is clearly evident.

Or on yours.

Jason likes Apple
Jon Doesn't
Suzi is fickle

Because they were so unfair to Apple I stopped watching it regularly some time ago.
