Anyone having issues with Superhub and internet dropping out recently?
My Superhub has dropped out several times today while using this morning and now 3 times in last hour. I had this in the first couple of days after install (couple of weeks ago) but it has been ok upto now.
I usually restart router and/or N USB receiver to bring it back |

If you check out the Virgin Media broadband forums you'll find the Superhub is plagued with problems and complaints from Superhub users. Virgin Media are fully aware that their Superhub has issues and have been promising a firmware upgrade for some time, but it has not happend yet. ETA for the Superhub firmware upgrade is reported to be May 2011 (see link below)

. I have actually just ordered the 30 meg service yesterday with a planned installation for 29 March but after reading all that I am now going to cancel until they've sorted it out. My connect ISP is has gone a bit pants of late and I used to have the VM 20 meg XL package years ago with a netgear router and the little black VM modem and it worked flawlessly for 3 years without any problems . Do you know if it's still possible to get those or is the 30 meg deal not compatible?

The hub is patchy no doubt, mine is fine with my wired pc but my ps3 wirless in a nightmare , my laptop is for the most part ok but some time's give's me jip. Im thinking of homeplug's for my ps3 because i see no sight of this f.w upgrade from virgin.
You are not alone o.p, virgin no this product aint a lot of cop. There is a guide some where on virgin help page's to use your own wirless router and to use the hub as a modem only. |

I am getting very frustrated with this issue now. Starting to wish I'd stuck with 20mb even though the greater speed is welcome
Using my desktop today and the net kept dropping out for no reason. Pulling out the USB N receiver is the only way to get it back which is a pain in the A. Sometimes a reboot is needed. It's a Tenda brand so maybe a better one would help? Also torrent downloads which were ongoing fail when I'm not there (or at least freeze and don't restart themselves). No good if I am at work I want to complain and get some compensation, maybe at least the 30 quid I paid for the Superhub. How is the best way to do this? I'm thinking a letter or is there an email address to write to with someone high up? Has anyone else complained? Successfully or otherwise? Thanks |

After reading all of the above I was left wondering if i am going to be plagued by the same issues
. I get the superhub delivered on Tuesday the 22nd(30MB service), if I have problems will I be able to use my old 10MB Modem to keep me going? albeit at reduced speeds. Thanks in advance |

I had issues with mine to begin with, Disable IP Flood detection in the router advanced settings. Ever since I did this, it's been great.

I have done this and tried tweaking other settings too at both end. Tried manual different channels etc. Still keeps dropping out when i'm using, sometimes every 5 mins.

Had mine installed a couple of weeks ago and had same problems. Tried all the relevant adjustments to no avail, all of a sudden been OK for the last 5 days but today it started playing up again.
Come on Virgin, pull your figure out and release firmware before you lose a lot more customers. |

This happened to me about this time last Saturday i had no connection. lasted for about 4 hours.
Same thing has just happened. I called Virgin & they booked for someone to come out and have a look two days later. When it came back on later I cancelled. Getting so annoying now |

Virgin Media SuperHub
After contacting Virgin Buisiness to upgrade my broardband speed, I was told that they have suspended upgrades to 50 Meg for the near future.
This is due to a firmware fault on the Superhub Router, and netgear are resolving the issue with the firmware. From what I was told there is an issue with the SuperHub communicating with Cisco hardware and appliance. The SupeHub being used for buisiness is the same as the one used for the home service, and would indicate why many home users are suffering from drop outs and no connection. I have been informed that there should be a new firmware update in the near future, and those of you who have the Superhub will need to update the firmware as soon as it is available. But check with Virginmedia before undertaking such upgrade. It is a bit much that virgin have kept so many customers in the dark, unless you are a buisiness user |
