Good bands with female singers?

Just what the title says, preferably British bands.

A good 60's band would be awesome but I'm open to any suggestions!

Skunk Anansie They're quite heavy, though, especially their earlier stuff. Try checking out Weak, Hedonism and Charlie Big Potato

Yeah Yeah Yeahs are a great band fronted by Karen O.

I'm not up to scratch with 60s bands, so that'll do for now

janis joplin (with any of her backing bands, 60s)
no doubt (the album beacon street collection is ska, slightly 60sish although from the 90s)
