I've had to replace my Samsung Galaxy s as there was a fault with it.

All the apps installed by android market are listed but there is no facility to reinstall them.

can anybody help me out.

PS - is it possible to do the downloads via the usb cable or does it have to be through the 3g network??

Not possible by USB cable, though you could always hook up to your home WiFi... what do you mean by "no facility to reinstall them"?

When I wiped and reinstalled my phone, as soon as I logged in to Market it began downloading all my original apps. Has the same not happened to you? What happens if you go to Market > My Apps? Is there a Downlaod button at the top?

Thanks for your reply pi r Squared. I have added sync features to the new phone and they haven't reinstalled. On myAccount all the previous apps are just marked ' installed' and if I click again on the installed button , the download box is greyed out. No mention of the word reinstall at all.

the phone has been up and running now for 5 hours and nothing has restored.

It's perfectly possible to transfer APK files by USB and then install them on an android device. I wish that people wouldn't state things that are obviously untrue!

OP: here's a guide in case you need assistance.

So, you can find the APK for any app in the Android Market, download it and transfer it via USB? Because the OP is wanting to install apps they have already installed once from the market, not from another place. Try reading things before bleating about statements being "obviously untrue".
